If there is someone who's going to break Ric Flair's record in this lifetime, who is not named Charlotte Flair, it is certainly Randy Orton who is a 14-time WWE Champion at this point in time. Knowing how close Randy Orton and Ric Flair are in real life; if someone has the blessings of the Nature Boy to break his record, it is certainly The Viper.
Given Randy Orton's run this year, I am not mad about him becoming champion tonight. Good stuff. #HIAC.
Plus, there is also the readymade storyline of the attack on Ric Flair from Randy Orton, so when it's time for The Viper to go for the 17th World Championship, there is a lot of meat on the bone with regard to the storyline. And on the way to breaking his mentor's record, Randy Orton may even tussle with Triple H over the 15th World Championship. Do you guys think that it should be Randy Orton that eventually goes on to retire Triple H, in a match where both men are clashing over the WWE Championship on a grand and mighty stage like WrestleMania or even a future Saudi Arabia date?
