Dominik Mysterio has continuously channeled Eddie Guerrero on WWE RAW, which was again the case on tonight's episode (September 23). The Judgment Day star arrived with his partner, Liv Morgan, at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Dirty Dom made his way to the arena in style, driving a lowrider alongside Morgan. Fans will be familiar with the late Eddie Guerrero, who similarly drove lowriders when making his entrances.
It's just the latest in a long list of ways Dominik Mysterio has imitated and paid tribute to Latino Heat on WWE RAW. He's grown his hair out like the WWE icon, who was Rey Mysterio's best friend.
Dom also sometimes shakes his shoulders to mimic Guerrero and occasionally uses the former WWE Champion's three amigos move. Given the circumstances, his antics get the WWE RAW star a lot of heat from fans.
The young upstart opened tonight's episode of WWE RAW with Morgan to cut a promo. They were interrupted by their rival and Dom's former 'Mami,' Rhea Ripley, who told them what's in store for them at Bad Blood on Saturday (October 5).
Dominik Mysterio will be in a shark cage when Ripley faces Morgan in Atlanta, Georgia. It will make for a hilarious scene to see the cocky Judgment Day star locked in the cage high above the ring.
WWE RAW star Dominik Mysterio asked Eddie Guerrero's ex-partner for permission to emulate him
Dominik Mysterio has been referencing Eddie Guerrero throughout his storyline in the Judgment Day. He nicknamed Rhea Ripley 'Mami' while also copying the WWE Hall of Famer's fashion and looks.
The former NXT North American Champion has taken a cautious approach with regards to emulating Eddie. He revealed a year ago that he'd spoken to the late WWE star's ex-wife, Vickie Guerrero, to get ideas green-lit:
"Being able to talk to Vickie, it's been little things here and there. She'll reach out and be like, 'I love what you're doing.' I'll reach out to here and go, 'Hey, hopefully this is okay.' Little things like that. I just never want any problems with the Guerrero family. It's all love and respect at the end of the day. Even before [the Judgment Day storyline] started, I asked someone in WWE if I could reach out to Vickie and ask her, 'Is this okay?'" [H/T WrestlingInc].
Eddie Guerrero passed away on November 13, 2005, from acute heart failure. The pro wrestling world went into mourning after the loss of one of the sport's most beloved stars. He's been honored by the likes of Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, and former WWE star Batista since his passing.
