How important was Brock's win for WWE?

UFC 141: Lesnar v Overeem

How important was Brock’s win for WWE? The stage was extreme and the story line of the match was pitched perfectly. Both the wrestlers Brock and HHH are part time performers who sell easily and bring in huge chunk of cash for the company whenever they get into the ring. Triple H is the COO of the company, he has nothing more to accomplish in WWE. ‘He has done it all’ like Jerry the King Lawler said. Triple H had nothing on the line, while on the other hand, Brock’s image was taking a hit slowly because of the loss he suffered against Cena and The Game. Brock is the future asset of the company, and, though, he is 38 yrs old, he can still be a good income material for WWE – atleast for the next three years. After his return, he has lost twice and won only once. If WWE was to keep his beast image intact, he had to win here and so it happened. Brock beat Triple H at Extreme Rules. Now, Brock is 2-2 after his return -a far better than a score of 1-3.

The win should stand and help him in the long run because the ‘King of Kings’ 13 times world champion doesn’t simply bow down to anyone. But Brock has got the win here, and the one he needed for him to get into a new feud with a mainstream superstar of the company. At the Extreme Rules event, Brock Lesnar not only beat Triple H in the steel cage match, he did so by using HHH’s own signature weapon against him. Lesnar than left the sledgehammer on Hunter’s chest with his arms folded across it.

Taking nothing away from Lesnar, it took a certain Paul Heyman’s cheap shot to keep the Game down. But the way the match went, the level it was taken to, was commendable. The fans were kept on their feet through out the match with the torture these two men inflicted on each other. They have given three good matches and there is no doubt on that, but the feud has to end here.I, personally, and the majority of the WWE Universe are against the opinion of Mick Foley who feels that Hunter and Lesnar should have one more match . Mick Foley tweeted earlier “@realmickfoley: The fact that I’m expecting nothing less than a classic in his cage match vs @BrockLesnar speaks volumes for the standard @TripleH has set.”

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

And later after the show, expressed his interest in seeing those two warriors again in the ring with Triple H putting something more on the line. But here’s the thing – Brock Lesnar should now be allowed to move on to further establish his dominance in the WWE. He should get into a feud with the likes of Randy Orton, Sheamus or may be a BigShow which won’t be new but will act as a catalyst for a new emergence of Lesnar’s career in the WWE. Brock’s win over Triple H means everything to the WWE, one doesn’t need supreme knowledge or understanding of business to know that Lesnar means ‘money’ for both the parties i.e. Lesnar and WWE.

Rock vs Brock? That question may have already struck readers mind but the fact is Rock is still not out of injury and WWE is in no position to take the risk of bringing The Rock too early into the scenes. Rock vs Brock is bound to happen as the company has high bets on both the superstars. But till then, Brock Lesnar ‘The Beast’ has to evolve, he has to continue walking in the path of domination. He should continue doing what he likes he do and that is ‘hurting people’.
