How many languages does WWE star Sami Zayn speak?

Sami Zayn is one of WWE's most beloved superstars around the world. It also helps that the star is multilingual. The Underdog from the Underground was born in Quebec, Canada, to a Syrian Muslim couple and is a devout Muslim by practice.

The 40-year-old star can speak four languages: English, Arabic, French, and Spanish. He regularly switches languages during promos on WWE RAW, particularly when visiting a different region of the world.

That was the case on this week's RAW after Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. He wore a traditional keffiyeh at the premium live event and on Monday's episode of the red brand, while also talking to the Riyadh crowd in Arabic.

Sami Zayn's multilingualism is just one of many fascinating aspects that make him such a popular star around the globe. He's enjoyed a hugely successful career, winning seven titles, including the Intercontinental Championship four times.

The former ROH star, whose real name is Rami Sabei, spoke at the start of his WWE career about wanting to help change the perception of Muslims.

He said in 2017:

"Ever since I was a kid and growing up and watching things like the ‘Naked Gun’ movies, there was always this stereotype about how Arabs were perceived and portrayed. I’ve never watched those Arab villains in the movie and felt like that was me. They were nothing like me, and now I get to just be me - and hopefully being me strikes a chord with a lot of young Arabs and non-Arabs, honestly. We’re really not all that different." It's fair to say Zayn has achieved his goal to a large extent. He's one of the most celebrated talents in the modern era of pro wrestling. His career is glistening with achievements, and his off-screen ventures in raising awareness towards numerous causes make him a fan favorite.

Sami Zayn deserves to win a WWE world title

Sami Zayn has enjoyed a phenomenal career but he's yet to win a world title in WWE. He's come close several times to doing so, including on RAW just last month when he lost to Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Fans have pined for Zayn to reach the mountain top and win the big one. He came desperately close at Elimination Chamber in Montreal in February 2023, losing to Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

There was a massive clamor at the time for Zayn to win the title despite Reigns being amid a record-breaking reign. Hopefully, one day, the WWE Universe will see him write his name etched in the history books as a world champion.
