Finn Balor and JD McDonagh faced Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth) for the World Tag Team Championship on the latest episode of WWE RAW. The heel duo was unsuccessful in bringing tag team gold back to The Judgment Day.

However, there was an intriguing backstage tease that caught the attention of many fans. When The Judgment Day was conversing in its clubhouse, a box with the face paint of Finn Balor's Demon King persona was spotted in the background.

The subtle detail may be WWE's way of teasing the potential return of Finn Balor's popular alter ego after 440 days. The former Universal Champion's last appearance in his Demon King persona came at WrestleMania 39. On April 2, 2023, Balor faced Edge in a hard-hitting Hell in a Cell Match, where he lost. Since then, the eerie character has not been seen on WWE TV.

The creative team might be planning to bring back the gimmick for several reasons.

Start of a major feud at a WWE premium live event

The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and Damian Priest have seemingly not been on the same page since the latter won the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 40. Priest has been quite harsh on his stablemates, and Balor might decide to take control of the group in the coming weeks.

As things stand, Priest will likely defend his title against Drew McIntyre at WWE's upcoming premium live event, Clash at the Castle 2024 on June 15. The Prince could decide to bring back his Demon King persona and confront Priest at the much-anticipated show, starting a power struggle within the heel faction.

Things have not been the same within The Judgment Day since Rhea Ripley got injured and was sidelined from in-ring action.

Amid Finn Balor and Damian Priest's recent issues, the company could lay the groundwork for Ripley's return. While The Eradicator is currently away from TV, she might be keeping a close eye on The Judgment Day. Hence, she could make a comeback eager to resolve the differences between her stablemates.

It will be interesting to see what's in store for the faction in the coming weeks.
