It is a widely known fact that Triple H is quite close to Vince McMahon, mainly due to the former's real-life romantic relationship with the latter's daughter Stephanie McMahon. While The Game could get away with certain things other superstars couldn't, that wasn't the case during the 1996 Curtail Call incident.

Netflix's new docuseries about Vince McMahon 'Mr. McMahon' tackled several topics about the former WWE Chairman's personal and business life. One was the things covered was the infamous 1996 Curtain Call, wherein the group of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall, also known as The Kliq, broke kayfabe. While breaking kayfabe is no longer a major sin in wrestling now, it was a big deal back then.

Before Diesel and Razor Ramon left WWE for WCW, they wrestled on a May 19, 1996, House Show in Madison Square Garden. The former wrestled HBK in the main event while the latter wrestled The Game earlier that night. After Michaels and Diesel's match, The Game and The Bag Guy entered the ring and the four men hugged each other.

In the 'Mr. McMahon' docuseries, Stephanie McMahon shared that she was in the audience at the time, and was also confused as to what was happening and thought Vince would be so mad. However, she did find the moment quite cool.

What did Cody Rhodes and Bruce Prichard think about Triple H's Curtain Call incident?

Many superstars and legends have mixed perspectives about the 1996 Curtain Call, with Bret Hart in the docuseries even saying that Triple H and the others "killed wrestling that day." Among those superstars who had opposite opinions were Cody Rhodes and Bruce Prichard.

The current Undisputed WWE Champion shared that for anybody his age at the time, which was quite young, the Curtain Call incident was cool. However, he knew that older-generation wrestlers and producers thought it was the "cardinal sin." From Bruce Prichard's "old-timer" perspective, it was sacrilege to have rivals engage in what The Kliq did.

Shawn Michaels wasn't punished for what happened as he was the World Champion at the time, which is why The Game was the one who received most of the punishment. After The Curtain Call, WWE decided not to award him the 1996 King of the Ring title, which went to Stone Cold Steve Austin. He also lost several matches on the weekly shows that followed.

However, since Triple H only accepted his punishment, the now Chief Content Officer landed again on the good graces of the company and won the Intercontinental Championship from Marc Mero, one of the first titles he won in his legendary wrestling career.
