Stephanie McMahon and Triple H married in real life in October 2003. However, they tied the knot on-screen about four years earlier as The Game tricked an unconscious Billion Dollar Princess into marrying him in a drive-through ceremony in Las Vegas as part of a storyline.
Vince McMahon's daughter, who was supposed to marry Test in the storyline, headed to DX's locker room to confront Triple H on the December 6, 1999, episode of RAW and asked him to sign their annulment papers.
"Hunter, I'm serious. I need you to sign these annulment papers," she said.
After X-Pac made an inappropriate remark to Stephanie, The King of Kings told him to mind his words. The Billion Dollar Princess then told Triple H that she was appealing to him as a human being to sign the papers, claiming that he had ruined her life.

"You know what? I'm really trying to be serious here. Hunter, I'm appealing to you as a human being. I mean, I would hope that you have some shred of decency in you. You've ruined my life. You got what you want. You've driven my father absolutely crazy. Listen, it's over now. Would you please just sign these papers, please?" she added. [0:25-0:45]
Nevertheless, The Cerebral Assassin did not sign the papers. Instead, he made inappropriate requests to an upset Stephanie, who then left the room.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's on-screen marriage ended on WWE RAW in 2002
Despite initially asking Triple H to sign the annulment papers, Stephanie McMahon later betrayed her father and sided with The Game, establishing the McMahon-Helmsley Era. However, the couple's on-screen relationship had a dramatic ending in 2002.
Upon Triple H's return from injury, Stephanie lied to him about being pregnant, as she felt he was leaving her. The couple then agreed to have a vow renewal ceremony on the February 11, 2002, episode of RAW. Before heading to the ring, The Game received a call from his mother-in-law, Linda McMahon, in which she told him that her daughter was lying to him about the pregnancy.
Instead of renewing their vows, the ceremony ended with the former World Heavyweight Champion telling Stephanie that their marriage was over. He also took out his father-in-law, Vince McMahon, and pushed the 48-year-old to the ground before throwing his wedding band at her.
In later years, The King of Kings and The Billion Dollar Princess acknowledged their real-life relationship as they appeared together again on WWE TV.
