IMPACT Wrestling World Championship: Moose vs Kenny Omega (c) w/ Don Callis
The IMPACT Wrestling World Title was defended tonight in a separate location from the rest of Against All Odds, as we saw Moose battle Kenny Omega at Daily's Place. Omega taunted Moose before the match began, as Scott D'Amore and Tony Schiavone on commentary reminded us that The Good Brothers were not in the building.
Moose and Kenny Omega locked up, with the 5-star athlete sending Omega to the apron. The IMPACT Wrestling World Champion tried to go for a headlock, but Moose stood straight up. After a clothesline failed, Moose had his eyes raked by Omega.
Omega avoided a splash in the corner, but for some reason went for the One Winged Angel a little early. Omega couldn't lift him up for it, though, and Moose broke Omega's grip with a strong elbow to the face. Moose seemed to block a hurricanrana, but Omega got it after countering a powerbomb.
Moose found himself on the floor, and leapt up with an incredible vertical jump to the apron. Omega booted him off before going for a tope con hilo, crashing on top of Mr. IMPACT Wrestling. Back in the ring, though, Moose caught a diving Omega. The Best Bout machine tried to chop his challenger before going low with a basement dropkick to the knee.
Omega ducked a discus lariat, hitting a Finlay Roll. Moose hit a kip-up as Omega went for a moonsault, and landed on top of Omega with one of his own. He continued to batter Omega, slowing the match down and leaving Omega gasping for air.
Moose launched Omega into the barricade repeatedly, but missed a flying crossbody as Omega ducked to the floor. He dove into the third row of chairs, seemingly injuring his arm in the process. Omega zeroed in on that target, driving both arms into the ring post repeatedly.
Omega kept up the pressure and shook off a nasty pump knee to the jaw, countering a discus lariat for a cross armbreaker. Moose lifted Omega straight up for a powerbomb, dropping the IMPACT Wrestling Champion high on his shoulder. A devastating european uppercut an running dropkick left Omega in a bad way.
A basement dropkick rocked Omega, and Moose followed up with Go To Hell. 1-2-No! Omega barely kicked out. Omega hit the snap dragon suplex but Moose stood up right out of it. A series of V-Triggers rocked Moose, but they weren't enough for the pin.
Omega turned Moose inside out with a clothesline, and followed with a double underhook driver. The Wrestling God of IMPACT Wrestling kicked out, frustrating Omega. Several more V-Triggers connected, and it was time for the One Winged Angel. Moose escaped and decapitated Omega with a discus lariat.
Omega moved to the top but couldn't escape Moose, who chased him for a top-rope Spanish Fly. Somehow, the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion kicked out. Omega saved himself, pulling the ref in front while Moose bowled both men over.
With the ref down, The Young Bucks dropped Moose with a Superkick Party. The BTE Trigger dropped Moose, and the Bucks helped get Moose up for the One Winged Angel. 1-2-3.
Results: Kenny Omega defeated Moose via pinfall at IMPACT Wrestling Against All Odds.
Grade: B
The lights went out, and when they came back Sami Callihan was standing in the ring. Callihan battered Omega and the Bucks with the Callihan Slugger. Don Callis ran out to try and stop Callihan from hurting "his family."
Callihan set a chair up over Omega's face similar to the night he broke Eddie Edwards' face. Callis, in response, fired Callihan from IMPACT Wrestling, allowing Omega to get out as Callihan blew a gasket.
