Brian Cage won the Impact World Championship from a former best friend turned backstabbing enemy earlier this year. Following that was Michael Elgin, a man who was dead set on leaving the Machine crippled. Brian Cage has survived it all and come back stronger every time.
Sami Callihan, though...is an entirely different beast. Instead of going after Cage, the Draw went after the Champion's wife. After "accidentally" bashing Melissa Santos with a champagne bottle following their wedding, Callihan grabbed a hold of Melissa's hair on the next Impact and hit her with a piledriver, all the while forcing Cage to watch thanks to oVe.
Callihan has said before that the man he is now isn't the man he wanted to be. The Callihan we see is the one that we created. Tonight, regardless of what's happened in the past, everyone will have to recognize him as the best. Tonight...we'll have to call him Champion.

No Disqualification Match for the Impact World Championship: Sami Callihan vs Brian Cage (c)
Callihan kickstarted the match with a Yakuza kick. Cage bounced off the ropes and leveled his challenger with a clothesline. Callihan withstood an onslaught and spit in the face of the champion. Cage responded by biting Callihan's face.
Cage stood across the ring as Callihan flipped him off. A discus clothesline turned him inside out while the blood began to spew from Callihan's forehead. Cage picked up a wolverine claw that he wore to the ring, then used it to create three more gashes across Callihan's head, leaving him bleeding like a stuffed pig. Callihan was left on the ropes where he dumped Cage overhead. A step up clothesline sent Cage to the ground, and a suicide dive launched him into the ramp.
Cage responded when he was sent inside by bouncing off the ropes for a tope. The two men continued to trade dives until Callihan was left on his back. Cage bounced Callihan's head off the apron and battered him in the jaw with a strong right elbow strike. With Callihan against the ring post, Cage tried to crush his head with a steel chair. Callihan ducked and took the chair, cracking it across the back of the Machine.
A second chair shot only angered Cage, who lifted his wife's assailant up and bounced him off the steel post with a powerbomb. Cage set up the steel stairs, but when he went around the corner, Callihan hid near the apron. When Cage returned, Callihan leaped off the steps onto Cage. A chair was bounced off his skull, but Cage responded by hitting Callihan with two back-to-back back suplexes. Callihan's head bounced off the ring bell both times.
Cage picked up a piece of the guardrail and set it up between the steps and two chairs. Though he set up a powerbomb, Callihan trapped him in a Groin Claw. He then drove Cage through the guardrail with the Cactus Special.
Inside the ring, Cage was met at the bottom corner by two running boots. A third one was countered by Cage, who came back to life with a short-arm clothesline attempt. Callihan ducked but found himself on the apron where Cage delivered a deadlift suplex. In the corner, Callihan was hit with an enzuiguri, back elbow, and a German suplex. Callihan escaped an F-5 attempt but was dropped by a spin-out pump-handle slam.
Callihan kicked out at two. Cage was caught by Callihan with a Death Valley Driver. As he rolled to the apron, Callihan rushed in to finish him off. Cage nearly dumped him overhead onto the broken barricade, but Callihan brought him down on his head with a modified piledriver.
Cage caught Callihan running in, popping him up for an F-5. Callihan kicked out at two, forcing Cage to roll outside and launch the broken barricade into the ring. Callihan found himself at the top rope but bit into Cage's ear to block a superplex. The sunset flip powerbomb was blocked, but a low blow to Cage allowed Callihan to hit a Cheeky Nandos kick and a powerbomb into the barricade. Cage kicked out at two and a half.
Callihan brought a bag of tacks in and spiked the champion with the Cactus Special on top of a pile. Cage kicked out at one and powerbombed Callihan. Drill Claw on top of the tacks ended Callihan's night.
Results: Brian Cage defeated Sami Callihan via pinfall.
Melissa Santos came down to the ring to celebrate with her husband. With this chapter over, Cage can now move onto his next challenge, as it seems that he's finally back to 100%.
