Impact Wrestling Results (September 20th, 2019): LAX says goodbye, NO DQ match takes a turn for the worst

LAX's final fight inside an Impact ring was against two close friends
LAX's final fight inside an Impact ring was against two close friends

Tonight was the end of an era for Impact Wrestling. After dominating the tag team division for years, becoming the longest-reigning Impact Tag Team Champions in the company's history, and besting the likes of oVe and the Lucha Bros, Santana and Ortiz are leaving Impact Wrestling.

A few weeks ago, LAX lost a title match against the North, failing to regain their titles and being forced out of the company forever. However, last week, Rich Swann and Willie Mack allowed them to go out on a high note. Tonight, they would do just that in the main event.

Kicking off the show, however, was the epic battle between oVe and Tessa Blanchard & the ECW Legends Tommy Dreamer, Rhyno, & Rob Van Dam.

Street Fight: oVe (Sami Callihan, Madman Fulton, Dave & Jake Crist) vs Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Rhyno, and Tessa Blanchard

All eight competitors brawled in the middle of the ring. As it cleared, Callihan was left alone with Rob Van Dam. Van Dam attempted a monkey flip, but Callihan held onto the ropes. A piledriver was countered into a body scissors takedown, and Rob Van Dam connected with the Rolling Thunder. Callihan rolled out with Van Dam in pursuit.

Blanchard and Dave Crist were next to step inside the ring. Blanchard left Dave set up in the corner for a rope-assisted Magnum. Dave rolled outside where he was met by a suicide dive. Jake Crist and Tommy Dreamer then rolled in, with Dreamer quickly eliminating Jake via a fallaway slam.

However, Madman Fulton rushed him, sending him spiralling to the outside with a big boot. Rhyno rushed the ring and had the big man on his feet. Jake Crist, though, held onto Rhyno's legs as he bounced off the ropes, allowing Fulton to take him out with a running forearm.

Dreamer made it back inside and sent Jake Crist packing, following up with a cutter to Fulton after biting his thumb. However, he quickly recovered and bowled over the Hardcore Icon with a shoulder tackle. Fulton then launched Jake over the ropes, with the X-Division Champion taking out all other competitors.

Fulton was sent to the outside by Dreamer, who climbed to the top rope. Dreamer then leapt onto everyone, leaving all eight competitors struggling to get off the ground. Eventually Callihan and RVD made it back inside. Van Dam pelted the Draw with strikes and ducked a clothesline for another dive over the ropes. Callihan taunted the ECW legends but didn't notice Tessa Blanchard enter the ring.

A double leg takedown and a few punches rocked Callihan, who was then planted with a cutter. Dave Crist cut her off as she went up top, bringing her down on everyone else with a superplex. Callihan, again, was the first to recover for his team, with Rhyno entering the ring for the other. A spinebuster sent Callihan out, but a series of spinning kicks dropped the War Machine. After taunting the crowd, Dreamer turned around into a Bionic Elbow.

Dave stunned him with a strong right hand and was immediately eliminated from the ring with a spinning back kick. Fulton rolled in afterwards and planted Van Dam with his finisher. Before he could make the pin, Blanchard broke it up. The Undeniable One spiked him via tilt-a-whirl DDT, and ascended the ropes for a top rope Magnum. Jake Crist held her legs, allowing Fulton to smack her across the face with a palm strike.

As he raised Blanchard over his head, Jake dropped her with a mega Crist Cutter. Rob Van Dam broke up the pinfall, and he and Dreamer took out Fulton with a kendo stick and a little bit of teamwork. He then followed up, leaping onto Dave Crist and Fulton with a cross body to the outside. As Rhyno and Dreamer set up to send Jake Crist into a table that Rhyno set up, Callihan low blowed them both.

Dreamer countered the Cactus Special with a claw on his package, setting up for a piledriver. Jake Crist superkicked him, but was then Gored through a table for his trouble. A Five-Star Frog Splash from Rob Van Dam and a crossface with the kendo stick from Tessa Blanchard left Jake with nowhere to go. Callihan was held down by Van Dam and Rhyno as Jake Crist tapped out.

Results: Tessa Blanchard defeated Jake Crist via submission.

Backstage, Ace Austin was seen in a wheelchair, an arm sling and a neckbrace, playing up the assault he took from Eddie Edwards last week. Alisha Edwards asked why he was here, wondering why he wasn't resting at home. The Ace of the X-Division claimed that this was what he did for those that he cared about, and wondered about the whereabouts of Eddie.

Tonight, Alisha Edwards will battle the Knockouts Champion Taya Valkyrie.

The Impact Tag Team Champions were backstage with Jimmy Jacobs, with both members of the North wearing party hats in celebration of LAX's departure. Alexander said he was happy, but he didn't want to wear a hat.

Page took a hat off his hat, exclaiming that everyone is wearing one and put it on Jacobs. He then pulled out a piñata and ran off to find some more "party animals."

Alisha Edwards vs Taya Valkyrie

Valkyrie turned her back on Edwards, leading to a sleeper hold attempt. Valkyrie countered, dropping her to the mat and mounting her for a handful of punches. Ace Austin was rolled down to the ring by a "doctor" so he could watch Alisha Edwards' match up close.

Valkyrie launched Edwards across the ring with a hair pull and spiked her face off the mat with a curb stomp. Edwards kicked out at two. Valkyrie bounced her face off the turnbuckle, but when she ran in for a body splash, Edwards picked her foot up, stunning her and sending her into the corner instead. A running dropkick set up for a short arm clothesline. A flatliner nearly gave Edwards the victory, but John E. Bravo yanked her out of the ring.

Austin escaped his sling and wheelchair to attack Bravo, hitting a handstand on the apron with his "broken arm" and kicking him in the jaw. Edwards never saw, and Austin quickly got back into the wheelchair to keep up the charade. Valkyrie wasn't distracted by any of that, however, and kicked Edwards as she re-entered the ring, finishing her with the Road to Valhalla.

Results: Taya Valkyrie defeated Alisha Edwards via pinfall.

Following the match, Ace Austin attempted to clap for Edwards and tried to stand up to great her, but "fell" nearly into her arms. Edwards screamed for help and the "doctor" rushed down to get Ace back in the chair.

The North continued to run around backstage finding more people to party, until they ran into Rob Van Dam and Rhyno. Rhyno tore apart Ethan Page's piñata and claimed that he'd show them what real fun was. As they ran off, Rob Van Dam asked why he was so angry, to which Rhyno exclaimed, "I just wanted the candy."

Gama Singh introduced Mahabali Shera to the Impact audience again. Shera refused to let Raj Singh and Rohit Raju lead him to the ring, demanding to lead the pack. As they entered the ring, Shera demanded they all pay their respect to Gama.

Mahabali Shera w/The Desi Hit Squad vs Cody Deaner w/Cousin Jake

Deaner was confident in his abilities right up until the match started. Shera rushed him, driving him into the corner and battering him with strong punches. A double underhook lifting DDT could've probably put Deaner away, but Shera opted to dish out more punishment.

Shera tied him up in the ropes and left him there to distract the ref while the Squad attacked him. Deaner made it back to his feet, pelting Shera with punches. Shera bounced him off the ropes by his beard, but Deaner responded by ducking a clothesline and launching into Raj and Rohit. He then attempted a dive from the top, but was caught in a chokeslam.

A powerslam ended Deaner's night, with Shera dominating him.

Results: Mahabali Shera defeated Cody Deaner via pinfall.

The Rascalz vs Arez, Toxin, and Australian Suicide

The Rascalz kicked off the match with a trio of moonsaults onto their opponents, following up with triple suicide dives to the outside. Trey took out Australian Suicide with a springboard hurricanrana, rope-assisted arm drag, and a dropkick. Arez came in here and delivered a brainbuster to Trey.

Dez was up next, leaping over Arez and connecting with a striking combination followed by a bulldog. A rolling senton took him outside. Toxin caught Dez with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Wentz rolled in and sent him packing with a springboard corkscrew press. Australian Suicide returned here, and though he missed a dive, managed to send Trey to the apron with headscissors. The AAA stars took out the Rascalz outside with a series of incredible dives.

After a six-man clash in the ring, Wentz and Dez connected with a ripcord into a flash knee, finishing off Australian Suicide with the Hot Fire Flame.

Results: The Rascalz defeated Australian Suicide, Arez, and Toxin via pinfall.

Another Moose vignette played with the former Atlanta Falcon looking for trouble in Mexico City. Eventually, he found three men minding their own business and decided to beat them into a pulp, trying to prove that he's the real "Most Dangerous Man."

Brian Cage met Tommy Dreamer and Rich Swann backstage, claiming that they were gonna cheat and cheat like never before during his Bachelor Party. Rich Swann was stunned by that but excited by the opportunity, apparently. Dreamer hoped that this party would live up to the old ECW days.

A pre-recorded interview with Jimmy Jacobs speaking to Tenille Dashwood played next, with Dashwood stating that her No.1 goal is to capture the Knockouts Championship. Last week she defeated the Girl on Fire, Kiera Hogan. She'll look to continue impressing the Impact fans and brass, hoping to earn a title match in the future.

No DQ Match: Havok vs Su Yung

Havok started the match by knocking Yung off the apron during her entrance. She then took her former ally around the ring, driving her spine first into the apron. Yung was rolled back inside while Havok brought in a chair. However, she went for the staple gun that she brought out to the ring instead. Yung, in order to escape the staple gun, bit her wrist, and followed up with a series of kicks.

Yung knocked Havok down with a running knee strike but only earned a one-count. Yung went outside for another weapon, picking up a steel pan. Havok kicked it out of her hands and sent her spiraling to the floor on the outside. As she attempted to run Yung into the ring post, Yung countered, bouncing her off the post instead. A drop toe hold to another chair saw Havok's face ricochet off the steel.

Havok recovered, though, countering an Old School on the steel guard rail into an electric chair facebuster on the rail. She then tossed Young inside and took out a ladder, placing it on the apron. Before she could roll back inside, Yung drop kicked it into the monstress. As Havok tried to crawl into the ropes, Yung kicked her and planted her with a rope-assisted double underhook facebuster. A chair was set up in the corner, and Havok was sent into it. As Yung attempted to roll her up,she held onto the ropes.

Yung broke her grip by stapling her between the legs. Havok was sent outside where she was stapled on the chest. Yung launched onto her with a rolling senton. Inside the ring, Havok kicked out at two.

The Undead Bride set up for the Mandible Claw by putting on the bloody glove. Havok responded with a series of strong kicks, but Yung was seemingly empowered by Havok's power. That didn't last long, though, as Havok spiked her in the middle of the ring with the Tombstone Piledriver.

Results: Havok defeated Su Yung via pinfall.

After the match, Yung immediately rose to her feet and set up the Mandible Claw. Havok shoved her away and tried to run her through the ladder which had been set up in the corner earlier in the match. Yung sidestepped, leading to Havok bouncing off of it. As Yung checked the ringside area for more weapons, Havok made it out to the apron. A steel chair bounced off the head of Havok.

The two supernatural competitors took the fight to the back, where they continued to batter each other with palm strikes and punches. Havok slowly dragged Yung up a stairwell and placed a noose around her neck. She then dumped Yung over the rails, leaving Yung hanging. The last image we saw was Havok dropping the rope and Yung's feet limply hanging in the air.

Valkyrie was left disgusted at the Bachelorette party of Melissa Santos
Valkyrie was left disgusted at the Bachelorette party of Melissa Santos

The entire Knockouts locker room was seen with Melissa Santos taking part in the future Mrs. Cage's Bachelorette Party. Valkyrie attempted to make it all about her, per usual. Luckily, the party heated up when the stripper, Joey Ryan, entered the room. Valkyrie was disgusted while the rest of the women cheered and smacked Ryan's butt.

More footage was shown of Brian Cage's Bachelor Party. It turns out the cheating the Impact World Champion's idea of cheating was taking part in a super cheat day, stuffing his face with doughnuts and other sweets.

Another Johnny Swinger vignette played, with Swinger giving away free shirts, only with $35 in shipping. Next week, Swinger makes his Impact Wrestling debut.

Rich Swann & Willie Mack vs LAX w/Konnan

All four competitors shook hands before kicking off the main event. Swann started the match with Santana. Santana took over early with a wrist lock. Swann responded with one of his own, but Satana escaped, bringing down Swann with a headlock. Swann escaped leading to both men rising quickly to their feet.

Santana shot Swann off into the ropes. Swann attempted to send Santana across the ring with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Santana landed on his feet and responded with a hurricanrana. Swann did the same, leading to a moment where they traded arm drags, again kipping up at the same time. Santana dodged a dropkick but was sent over with an armdrag, allowing Swann to connect with another dropkick.

However, Swann was driven into LAX's corner, with Ortiz tagging in. A trio of splashes from the former tag team champions, finishing with the Dead Man's Dive from Ortiz, lead to a two-count. A Boston crab in the middle of the ring left Swann screaming from the pain. He eventually found the ropes, though the damage to his back was already done.

Swann got back to his feet and connected with a few punches before finally tagging in Willie Mack. Mack battered Ortiz, but Santana jumped in the ring for a pair of enziguris to the big man. In LAX's corner, Santana tagged in and chopped him several times. Ortiz tagged again. Mack superkicked Santana out of the ring and after tagging Swann, the duo took down Ortiz with a spear/clothesline combo. Ortiz kicked out at two.

Mack came back in, and attempted to sling Ortiz across the ring. Ortiz countered but Mack leapt into the corner with a headstand. Ortiz was shaken, and when he finally rushed Mack, Chocolate Thunder took him down with a shoulder tackle. A Samoan drop and a standing moonsault lead to another close call as we headed into the final commercial break of the night.

Back from commercial, Mack battered Ortiz's chest with chops, then tagged in Swann. The former X-Division Champion pelted Ortiz with more chops and sent him over with a snapmare, lighting his back up with a penalty kick. Ortiz escaped a chin lock with a jawbreaker and leveled Swann with a clothesline. As he tried to get to his corner, Mack tagged in, knocking Santana off the apron and bringing Ortiz back to their corner.

Swann came in but Ortiz avoided a shoulder tackle, forcing Swann to launch shoulder first into the ring post. A DDT to Mack allowed Ortiz to work towards the corner for a tag. Santana finally got back in the match, sending Swann to the ground while turning Mack inside out with a running single legged dropkick. Swann rolled back inside but Ortiz tagged in again, and the duo drove him into the middle of the mat with a swinging powerslam/neckbreaker combination. Swann kicked out at two.

Swann dumped Ortiz outside as Santana tagged in, who leveled Swann and challenged Mack to get in the ring. Santana leapt over for a moonsault, but Mack caught him, raising him sky high for an impressive neckbreaker from Swann. Ortiz broke up the pinfall, leading to all four men taking each other out. Swann set up for the handspring cutter on Ortiz.

Santana shoved Ortiz out the way and caught Swann for a spin out powerbomb. All four men were left out on their backs as the referee began the count. Swann was to his feet first, followed by Santana. Santana prevented Swann from running in, catching him with a boot. A sit out powerbomb into a powerbomb/backstabber combination would've probably spelled the end for Swann, but Mack broke the pin up.

LAX set up for the Street Sweeper. Swann broke away and went up top for Santana while Mack leveled Ortiz with a clothesline. A frankensteiner sent Santana down to the ground where Mack crashed onto him with the Six-Star Splash. Swann covered for a two-count.

Mack officially tagged in here. He and Swann rocked both members of LAX with superkicks. A handspring cutter to Santana followed by a stunner, a phoenix splash, and the Six-Star Splash finally put Santana and LAX to bed.

Results: Willie Mack & Rich Swann defeated LAX via pinfall.

As LAX, Konnan, Mack & Swann celebrated in the ring, the majority of the locker room cleared out to say goodbye. Fallah Bahh, Willie Mack, and Cousin Jake put Ortiz & Santana on their shoulders as we cut away.

We saw the results of the attack Su Yung received from Havok. Following the hanging, Yung was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead. However, just as everyone left the room, she awoke. It seems that Havok has not rid herself of the Undead Bride just yet.
