According to a report from PWInsider, Alberto Del Rio has officially signed with Impact Wrestling.
In case you didn’t know...
Alberto Del Rio debuted for Impact Wrestling, as Alberto El Patron, during the tapings on March 2, 2017. He interrupted Bruce Prichard and Bobby Lashley in an attempt to force his way into a match for the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. The 39-year-old was granted his wish and subsequently captured the title in dubious circumstances.

However, Del Rio was subsequently forced to vacate the championship on the following night. He then later defeated ECIII to earn another shot at the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship.
The heart of the matter
After working the previous tapings on a gentleman’s agreement, it appears that Alberto Del Rio has finally signed a contract with Impact Wrestling. He has also expressed his displeasure with WWE recently and claimed that he even rejected Vince McMahon’s offer for a third run with the company.

It looks like man formerly billed as the Mexican Aristocrat has burned his bridges with the titans of sports entertainment and will remain with Impact Wrestling for the foreseeable future.
What’s next?
Pop TV will air a live episode of Impact Wrestling on March 20, 2017. They company will then tape multiple episodes at the Universal Studios in Orlando. Del Rio will presumably receive his title shot at these tapings.

Although Alberto Del Rio flattered to deceive in the world of WWE, he is a Mexican icon with tremendous name value in the world of wrestling. His ability to reach a different audience makes him a valuable asset to Impact Wrestling.
