What’s the story?

Impact Wrestling superstar Moose recently spoke with WSVN-TV Entertainment Reporter Chris Van Vliet in Orlando, Florida and during the conversation, the 34-year-old weighed in his thoughts on Ethan Carter III signing with the WWE and why he initially hated his in-ring name, Moose.

In case you didn’t know…

Earlier this year, former Impact Wrestling World Champion EC3 made his return to the WWE as part of the company’s developmental brand, better known as NXT, at TakeOver: Philadelphia.

Shortly afterward, at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, EC3 made this in-ring debut for NXT when he competed in the first-ever NXT North American Championship 6-man ladder match, featuring the likes of The Velveteen Dream, Ricochet, and eventual winner Adam Cole.

The heart of the matter

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Moose spoke about a host of topics and below are the highlights from the interview:

On the backstory of the Moose moniker:

According to Moose, he claimed that the Moose moniker was initially given to him by one of this teammates during his days as a Pro Football player and the former Impact Grand Champion absolutely hated the name in the first place.

"A teammate of mine gave it to me during my football days. Hated it. Couldn't stand it. Hated everybody who called me Moose and now Moose makes me money."

His thoughts on EC3:

Moose stated that despite his former Impact colleague EC3 departing for the WWE, the two men apparently stay in touch with each other and talk to each other on a daily basis.

In addition, Moose expressed that he is indeed very happy for EC3 and knows for a fact that the former Impact World Champion is destined for greatness in NXT.

"I talk to him every day. I'm so happy for him, he's doing great things with the company he's with now. Everybody knew he was going to be a star wherever he goes. He looks like a Greek god and he talks great on the mic and his in-ring work is great. We all knew he was going to do great things."

What’s next?

Moose is currently working on the Impact Wrestling circuit and is expected to work for the company for a few more coming years as well.

Author’s Take

Personally, I agree with Moose’s statement regarding EC3 and believe in the fact that he is indeed going to achieve a lot of great things during his on-going second run with NXT.
