CM Punk considered himself to be "The Best in the World" whilst working as an active talent in WWE up until 2014. Interestingly, his stint in WWE included wearing a mask for few months after he lost a pledge match to Rey Mysterio.
Up until that point, CM Punk had always had long hair throughout his WWE career but after Mysterio handcuffed him to the ropes and shaved his hair, the former World Champion was forced to wrestle bald.
Punk made the decision to instead start wearing a black mask because he was embarrassed about the fact that he was bald. The mask didn't last for very long since Punk stepped into a feud with The Big Show a few months later, and The World's Largest Athlete ripped the mask to show off his head.
After The Straight Edge Society split, Punk seemed to adjust to life without his long locks and continued to wrestle without a mask for the next few years.
Interestingly, the former World Champion recently brought the mask back out whilst in isolation.
