What’s the story?
Tickets for Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks' self-funded event in the 10,000 seater Sears Centre Arena sold out within 30 minutes of being available for sale!
With all seats open the crowd would legitimately just top 10,000, which would be the first time in United States history where something like that happened for a truly independent event.
In case you didn’t know…
In 2017, Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks decided to organize a huge independent wrestling show with the aim of selling out a venue which would hold more than 10,000 people and likely be the biggest independent wrestling show of all time.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Several names have been confirmed to appear at the event with the three organisers to be joined by the likes of Rey Mysterio, Kenny Omega, Marty Scurll, Kazuchika Okada, Adam Page, Pentagon Jr, Fenix, Matt Cross, Chelsea Green, Britt Baker, Tessa Blanchard and Arrow star Stephen Amell all scheduled to appear among others.
There is also a strong rumor that CM Punk may appear after he was confirmed for an appearance with Pro Wrestling Tees, who have been heavily affiliated with All In, that very weekend.
The heart of the matter
Well, after the best part of a year hyping the event, all it took was half an hour to seemingly shift every single ticket with several news outlets now confirming the event is a sell-out - as well as several disgruntled fans confirming via Twitter that they were unable to get tickets.
Mike Johnson from PWInsider.com also states the show has made history already...
Astonishingly, while the show looks stacked from afar, the event has sold out despite there being almost nothing confirmed in terms of matches.
The only confirmed match for the event is Cody challenging for the NWA World Heavyweight title, confirmed by Billy Corgan at the press conference today. If the title does not change hands, that also places Nick Aldis as champion on the card.
What’s next?
Well, with All In less than four months away, you can bet the announcements will now start rolling in more frequently in the build to the event.
With the venue selling out, hopefully, now the attention goes towards streaming the PPV for the masses.
Author’s take
Well, this is awesome. There isn't much you can say except a huge congrats to Cody, the Bucks and everyone else involved. This will be HUGE and I really hope a live stream is available for the event - as it looks like it's one not to be missed.
