Indy News: Lucha Underground Superstar Jack Evans collapses during match

Hopefully, Evans recovers quickly

What’s the Story?

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Lucha Underground Superstar Jack Evans was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital after collapsing during a match for wrestling promotion, The Crash Lucha Libre in Tijuana, Mexico.

In case you didn’t know....

Jack Evans is an independent wrestler who has been working the indies since 2000. He has wrestled in several promotions during the course of his career including Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate, Wrestling Society X, and other wrestling organisations.

He began wrestling for AAA in 2008 and eventually went on to compete in Lucha Underground and won the Trios Championships with Johnny Mundo and PJ Black (formerly Justin Gabriel).

The heart of the matter

Fans in attendance claimed that Evans suffered a continuous seizure after taking a move similar to a Muscle Buster. Evans was placed on a gurney and sent to the hospital in an ambulance and the rest of the show continued without any update on Evans condition.

A fan inquired about Evans’ condition on The Crash’s Facebook Page and The Crash responded with a message which translated to “He is well friend, thank you.”

Impact

A bad bump off of a Muscle Buster-esque manoeuvre seems to have devastating effects to the wrestlers receiving it. WWE Superstar Tyson Kidd suffered a severe neck and spinal injury following a Muscle Buster from Samoa Joe in 2015 and is not likely to ever wrestle again.

Also, seizing in the midst of matches could indicate some type of damage to the brain as it did in the case of Daniel Bryan when he seized during a match with Sheamus in 2015.

Author’s take

We at Sportskeeda would like to wish Mr. Evans a speedy recovery following his unfortunate situation. Hopefully, the doctors can find out if there was something wrong with Evans so he can get better and inform his fans as to what went wrong.

Tweet Speak

Several fans took to twitter to wish Evans a speedy recovery and send their hopes and prayers to him while he recuperates.
