The 10-year anniversary of The New Day has created speculation on the future of Big E. The former WWE Champion has been out since March 11, 2022, recovering from neck surgery he had.
The expectation was that he might never wrestle again, but still, WWE hasn't ruled out a return for The New Day star if he is medically cleared to compete again. Big E is not expected to leave the Stamford-based company, but as he hasn't resigned yet, his future remains unclear. In 2019, he agreed to a five-year deal that is set to expire soon.
Therefore, his health status should determine his next move. WWE could extend his contract during his injury recovery or sign him to a new one that would see him work backstage or as part of the commentary team.
Amid his recovery from neck surgery, the former WWE Champion has joined the commentary team at premium live events. Thus, whether he returns to the ring will be key to his future with WWE.

Big E addresses 10-year anniversary with The New Day
It has been 10 years since The New Day began its journey. Over the past decade, they have gone down as one of the best tag teams of all time, while Big E made history after becoming the WWE Champion.
Writing an article for The Players' Tribune, The New Day star reflected on the journey with the faction and how it could help him in his future creative plans.
"I feel like I’ve spent the last 10 years with Woods and Kofi on this amazing, life-changing project: trying to perform a version of wrestling that’s in the image of all the things we love. And now I want to find out how far I can stretch that project past wrestling. I want to see if I can actually create some of those things we love," Big E wrote.
As we said, what he does next remains unclear, but Monday on RAW could shed more light on The New Day star's future in WWE and whether an in-ring return is a likely scenario.
