Brock Lesnar has not been seen in WWE since August 2023, when he fought Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. WWE reportedly had plans to bring him back, but The Beast Incarnate has been dealing with legal issues and it is unknown right now if and when he could return to the ring.
Back in late July, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H spoke with the Daily Mail and left the door open for the former world champion's return to the ring.
"You’d have to ask Brock Lesnar that. Brock kind of does his own thing. He’s up in Canada, I’m sure, watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides he would like to do something, we’d be open to the conversation. We’ll see," Triple H said.
The expectation is that Brock Lesnar will return to WWE eventually once the legal team clears him. There is no update on when this will happen, though.
The creative team's original plan was to allegedly have a dream match between Brock Lesnar and the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther. The Ring General has already addressed this possibility and it is likely that The Beast Incarnate could go after the reigning champion once he returns.
Gunther once said he considered Brock Lesnar his 'final boss'
Several months ago, Gunther opened up about the possibility of a match against Brock Lesnar, as there were some reports suggesting that WWE wanted to have a match between the two megastars at WrestleMania 40.
But, as The Beast Incarnate was still possibly dealing with legal issues, these plans were called off and Gunther faced Sami Zayn at The Grandest Stage of Them All.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion explained why he considered Lesnar his 'final boss.'
"Of course, I heard something about it. I always saw Brock as my final boss. I always get portrayed as that, as the NXT UK Champion, the Intercontinental Champion, I was like the final boss of that division, and Brock, for a long time, was the final boss of the whole company. So I always saw myself in my future to be in a similar position to him, and to be that you’ve got to get in the ring with that guy," Gunther said. [H/T 411Mania.com]
Heading into the final few weeks of the year and with the Royal Rumble in February 2025, WWE could offer an update on when the former world champion could make his way back to the business.
