Is Carlito a member of the LWO now? Following up on his return at Backlash

Carlito
WWE Backlash featured numerous returns

Carlito is one of the most popular Puerto Rican stars in the pro wrestling world. He has won several titles in his career, including the United States and Intercontinental Championships. Upon his surprise appearance at WWE Backlash, fans were absolutely ecstatic to see the veteran assist Bad Bunny alongside the LWO.

Following his well-received return, fans are speculating whether the icon is now part of the Latino World Order stable. As of now, there has been no official report from WWE regarding his signing, with some news outlets suggesting that there is a "hiring freeze" in the company currently.

Considering his popularity among fans, the former champion could make his way back to the company. It is also highly possible that this could be a one-off appearance since WWE Backlash was hosted in Puerto Rico.

Carlito was not the only icon present during the Street Fight match. Earlier in the show, Savio Vega was seen in a backstage segment giving Bad Bunny some advice alongside Rey Mysterio. He also showed up to stop Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor from interfering in the contest. LWO eventually outnumbered The Judgment Day, allowing Bunny to defeat Damian Priest.

This was Carlito's first appearance in the promotion since February 1, 2021, when he and his partner, Jeff Hardy, bested Elias and Jaxson Ryker. A few days before this bout, the veteran competed in the 2021 Men's Royal Rumble Match.

WWE is reportedly impressed with Carlito's Backlash appearance

WWE Backlash was filled with epic performances this year, with several exciting matches on the card. The fans in attendance were incredibly vocal, allowing the competitors to put on high-octane in-ring action. The former United States Champion's entrance was no different, as he received a huge ovation from his home crowd.

It was previously reported that the veteran had turned down offers about a pro wrestling return in the past. However, this could change after this weekend. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful mentioned that the Puerto Rican star was massively praised backstage for his appearance.

"Several backstage spoke about how much Carlito had matured since his WWE run, and said that the reaction from the crowd was “even better than expected.” There have been numerous pitches over the last couple of years to bring Carlito in for runs or even full-time." [H/T Ringside News]

The 44-year-old appeared to be in excellent shape and may be capable of returning for another full-time run on RAW or SmackDown. While nothing is certain, there could still be a chance that fans will see more of him in WWE.
