Kevin Owens turning on Cody Rhodes at WWE Bad Blood sparked a chain of reactions from various directions. First, it infuriated The American Nightmare, as expected. Second, it compelled General Manager Nick Aldis to fine and suspend The Prizefighter. Third, Randy Orton had to step in to defuse the situation, but that further led to a wedge being driven between KO and The Viper.

A message from Kevin Owens surfaced before the latest episode of WWE SmackDown in which he conveyed his feelings about the company and Randy Orton. The Prizefighter revealed not feeling valued by WWE since he was asked to stay home for attacking their 'Golden boy,' Cody Rhodes. However, he was most hurt by The Viper choosing The American Nightmare over him.

He didn't confirm his return to the company. In fact, to the contrary, he left it uncertain by claiming 'I really don't know if, or when, I can come back." There is a high possibility that this is just part of the storyline, especially since news surfaced that his contract was expiring around early 2025.

The Stamford-based promotion can now utilize it to show Kevin Owens wanting to leave the company owing to feeling underappreciated and creative frustrations. However, ultimately, The Prizefighter will remain with the company and return to avenge himself.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"Dude, I just can't believe you picked Cody Rhodes over me. I've got to be honest with everybody, with everything that's happening right now, between the disrespect shown to me by WWE, and Randy breaking my trust like that, I really don't know if, or when, I can come back."

For the time being, his ongoing contract situation can be used to develop a storyline to bring a change in Owens' character where he is not the good guy anymore or even one who is trying to explain his side of the story. Once he returns, he could be one of the heels who will destroy anyone standing in his path.

Kevin Owens explained why he turned on Cody Rhodes

On the previous week's edition of the blue brand, Kevin Owens wasn't supposed to be in the arena but he was there anyway. He wanted a chance to explain why he had turned on The American Nightmare, but Nick Aldis suspended him before he could proceed.

During his unauthorized appearance, The Prizefighter explained that he didn't turn on the Undisputed WWE Champion but the champion turned on him by teaming up with Roman Reigns. Even though it might not be logically sound, given what Owens endured at the hands of The Bloodline under The OTC's leadership over the years, one can understand why KO wasn't onboard with his supposed friend aligning with Roman Reigns.

Unfortunately, he couldn't finish his explanation due to Cody Rhodes showing up in the arena for a confrontation, followed by Nick Aldis, Randy Orton, and additional security.
