Logan Paul is one of the popular choices for WWE when the company organizes shows outside the United States. The Maverick's heavy social media following, along with his being a YouTuber, helps boost ticket sales and bring more eyes to the product.
Unfortunately, the United States Champion will not be present for WWE's tour in Japan, as announced by WWE and Japan's media partner, ABEMA. Following that, reports by PWInsider revealed that Logan Paul has certain prior commitments that bar him from traveling to Japan. However, fans are speculating that The Maverick might not be going on the tour due to an incident that took place in 2017. Nevertheless, it is important to note that Paul is not banned from traveling to the country despite the 2017-2018 incident, and this can be a personal choice.
Back in December 2017, Logan Paul traveled to Japan and filmed a vlog in the Aokigahara Forest, which is also known as the 'Suicide Forest'. In Paul's vlog, he was seen being disrespectful towards a deceased man by making demeaning jokes. When the vlog came out on YouTube, Paul received significant backlash and the video was taken down.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Considering he allegedly became the most despised man for a while in 2018, it may be a personal decision by Paul. On the other hand, WWE might be trying to avoid any type of controversy or problem by not adding Logan Paul to the Japan tour.
The Stamford-based promotion is returning to Japan with three live shows after five years. The first will emanate from Edion Arena in Osaka on July 25th, 2024. The second and third live shows are scheduled at Ryogoku Arena in Tokyo for July 26th and 27th, 2024, respectively.
Logan Paul had a falling out with The Rock over the Japan incident
Before Logan Paul's Japan vlog surfaced, he had collaborated multiple times with The Rock for various videos and vines. When the video surfaced, it affected Dwayne Johnson on a personal level, and he cut off all communication with The Maverick. Furthermore, he requested all their vines be removed from social media.
Logan Paul revealed how he got the message from The Rock after the video was released on YouTube.
"I got a call from my publicist, who also repped Dwayne Johnson. She's like 'Hey, Dwayne has asked that you remove every video and picture that you've done with him. Maybe in the future it can be reconciled, but for now he doesn't want anything to do with you.' Which I also understood."
The YouTube sensation had issued an apology for the video.
Currently, The Maverick is the WWE United States Champion. It's possible the Stamford-based promotion could build a match between Paul and LA Knight next.
