Paul Heyman hasn't been seen on WWE television since June of this year, months before Roman Reigns returned at the 2024 SummerSlam. Despite several teases, references, and even mentions of him in recent episodes, he remains absent. However, his status behind the scenes is much different.
Paul Heyman is considered one of the greatest minds of professional wrestling. His work in WWE and beyond may not be noted with impressive matches, but the names he managed. Among them are Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, The Undertaker, and most recently, the OG Bloodline. However, he hasn't been seen after being attacked by Solo Sikoa's Bloodline in June for choosing Roman Reigns over him. Although fans haven't seen the Hall of Famer in a physical sense, he hasn't left the company.
Paul Heyman is still with WWE. Although he hasn't been present for several months, he is still involved in the company's happenings and The Bloodline's story. He has been spotted backstage on RAW and SmackDown and was even backstage for Roman Reigns' return at SummerSlam.
Despite his absence, Heyman has continued to showcase his support for the group and his Tribal Chief on social media and in interviews.
When will Paul Heyman return to WWE television?
Heyman is the only member of the OG Bloodline who has yet to reunite after Sami Zayn, The Usos, and Roman Reigns have managed to mend bridges. Many thought he might get involved with the Bloodline vs. Bloodline WarGames match for Survivor Series, but that might not happen.
In an interview with Sam Roberts in September, Paul Heyman shared that he will only come back when it's relevant for him to do so. He shared that his return should add to Roman Reigns' story and he would not come back just to ride on The OTC's glory. The ECW founder also noted that when he does come back, it will set up a year's worth of storylines.
In a recent Weekly LIVE Q&A with Bill Apter and WrestleVotes from Backstage Pass, when Paul was asked by a fan when he could return he only answered "Soon enough." Joe from WrestleVotes also reported that the company might wait until after the five-on-five match before Heyman returns.
The Bloodline's story on SmackDown and RAW continues to intensify en route to Survivor Series. It will be interesting to see if Paul Heyman will add to the excitement of the upcoming match by returning before the PLE.
