WWE RAW is moving to Netflix in January 2025. It is the first time the platform will stream live wrestling shows. The deal between Netflix and the Stamford-based promotion is one of the unique ones in sports entertainment, and the first of its kind. If it is successful, it can revolutionize the way WWE product is broadcast to the fans.

During the latest episode of the red show, it was announced that RAW will become a two-hour show starting on October 7th, 2024 through the end of the year. This raised the question of whether this format will be implemented on Netflix or not.

As per WrestleVotes, WWE RAW will stream for two hours on Netflix, but the Stamford-based promotion wants to keep a flexible schedule for the live shows:

"As for what this means for 2025 and Netflix, one source said WWE is eagerly anticipating the freedom to vary run times as needed. No firm decision has been made either way."

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

WWE made changes to RAW's announcers recently as well. Michael Cole moved to SmackDown, and Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore took over Monday Night RAW's commentary.

Triple H explains the benefits of having WWE RAW stream on Netflix

Lately, the wrestling juggernaut has focused on moving away from the PG-Era. Even though the company can't completely disregard the era's rules, certain changes have come into effect such as bloodshed, explicit chants, etc. Nevertheless, the company has had to adhere to restrictions which resulted in live audio being muted or screen-blackened during certain fan reactions.

WWE's Chief Content Officer explained that the company will have much more freedom with the product when WWE RAW moves to Netflix:

"Right now, just as an example of us being on Fox, if the crowd chants, 'Holy s**t' or something much worse, they just take that audio. We won't have those issues [on] Netflix. It's a game-changing moment. I think in many ways, not to disparage other partners because we want to be everywhere, but [streaming is] sort of where the world is heading."

It will be interesting to see how WWE changes the product and whether or not it'll revive the former glory of the Attitude Era.
