It has been nearly six weeks since Jade Cargill was ruled out following a backstage assault on SmackDown. It is unclear who attacked her backstage, and WWE hasn't provided a timetable for her return as she is recovering from multiple injuries.

Still, the former Women's Tag Team Champion could appear in the first SmackDown of 2025 this Friday night and reveal her mystery attacker. Jade Cargill could appear during the title match between Nia Jax and Naomi and distract the latter, costing her the opportunity to become the Women's Champion.

After the match, Cargill reveals that Naomi was the one who assaulted her and went after her, seeking revenge. This would also create problems for Bianca Belair, who retained the Women's Tag Team Championship after teaming up with the 37-year-old.

As for the title match, Tiffany Stratton could show up after the match and attempt to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase and become the new Women's Champion. Stratton has made it clear that she is set on becoming a World Champion in WWE, meaning that a cash-in could happen soon.

Jade Cargill's status remains unclear amid hiatus from WWE

Jade Cargill was set to compete at the 2024 Survivor Series: WarGames as a member of Team Ripley, which defeated Team Morgan in the match.

Still, the backstage assault ruled her out indefinitely, with WWE pulling her off TV and providing no timetable for her return.

There was speculation that her injury was legitimate and could keep her out for at least three months, allowing her to return on time for WrestleMania 41. On the other hand, there were reports that the injury and the backstage assault were working to build up a new storyline for the SmackDown superstar and former Women's Tag Team Champion.

In that case, it would make more sense for WWE Creative to bring her back on the first SmackDown of 2025, which marks a new era for the company, as it officially moves RAW and SmackDown to Netflix. Alternatively, Jade Cargill could return as a surprise entrant at the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match and go after her mystery attacker.
