It has been two weeks since Jade Cargill was assaulted backstage on SmackDown, and it is still unknown who the mystery attacker is. WWE has ruled her out indefinitely as she is recovering from the injuries she sustained.
At the same time, it is unknown whether she and tag team partner Bianca Belair will be forced to vacate their Women's Tag Team Championship or WWE will find a replacement for Jade Cargill. She is not expected to return to the ring soon, but she could show up on SmackDown this week and reveal who her mystery attacker is. Cargill could appear via titantron and expose Bianca Belair as her mystery partner.
This scenario would help add a new angle to the storyline since the EST of WWE would turn heel and turn on her tag team partner. They would also drop the tag team titles and return to singles competition, becoming title contenders right away.
Meanwhile, Jade Cargill would seek revenge on the two-time women's champion upon her return so she could go after her and set a blockbuster match for WrestleMania 41 in April.
When could Jade Cargill return to WWE?
There was some confusion about whether the reigning Women's Tag team Champion, as WWE hasn't made a decision on the future of the titles yet, was dealing with real-life injuries or whether the backstage assault was just work and she is healthy and good to go.
According to a report from Sportskeeda's Dr. Chris Featherstone, she is dealing with legitimate injuries and is not expected to be back before early 2025.
"Jade Cargill's injuries are indeed legitimate, and she is not booked to return to WWE for the rest of the year in order to heal up," he wrote on X.

In that scenario, WWE could keep her out through late January and bring her back as a surprise entrant in the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble on February 1 to target Bianca Belair and set the stage for a feud with her, which could be extended through the Elimination Chamber PLE and then WrestleMania 41 in April.
