Jey Uso and the other WWE Superstars whose fathers never won King of the Ring but they can!

The 2024 King of the Ring will soon be crowned!
The 2024 King of the Ring will soon be crowned!

WWE introduced the King of the Ring Tournament in 1985, with Don Muraco being the first superstar to earn the crown. For many years afterward, the company held the tournament annually and eventually turned the concept into a pay-per-view event. However, the event has gone extinct iduring this era, with the last person crowned King of the Ring being Xavier Woods in 2021.

As we near the newly restructured event, fans will see both a King and a Queen crowned this year. With that said, a few WWE Superstars have a chance to do something their legendary fathers never accomplished. This is the list of current WWE Superstars whose fathers never won the King of the Ring, but they can!

Son of WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi - 14-time Tag Team Champion Jey Uso

Since Jimmy and Jey parted ways, Jey Uso has been on a mission to create his own legacy as a singles star. Thanks to the support from the WWE Universe, 'Main Event' Jey Uso is one of the top stars on the main roster and could soon become the newest King of the Ring.

Jey Uso is a descendant of the true Bloodline, the Anoa'i/Maivia Wrestling Family. Jey's father is the Hall of Fame legend Rikishi. During Rikishi's career, he became best known for his time with the fan-favorite trio known as Too Cool. Rikishi would often treat his opponents to a nice "stink face" to cap off a match.

With the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament concluding, Jey Uso finds himself one of just a few WWE Superstars still in contention for the crown. Jey will face Gunther in the next round, which will determine whether Jey gets the opportunity to move on to the championship round at the King and Queen of the Ring event on May 25th.

Son of the Legend Haku - Tama Tonga of The Bloodline

Haku is considered by many of his colleagues as one of, if not the toughest, pro wrestlers ever. Haku made his WWF debut in 1985 as King Tonga. He later went on to be crowned "King Haku" after Harley Race was forced to take time off due to an injury. Despite being dubbed a king, Haku never actually won the King of the Ring Tournament.

After years of global success as a member of the faction known as The Bullet Club, Tama Tonga left Japan earlier this year and signed with WWE. Tama made his debut during the post-WrestleMania edition of SmackDown, aligning himself with The Bloodline. After beating Angelo Dawkins in the first round, then LA Knight in the second, Tonga moves on to face Randy Orton in the semi-final round, for the right to compete for the crown at the King and Queen of the Ring event in Jeddah.

The Viper Randy Orton looks to add a King of the Ring Crown to the Orton Family legacy

With so much focus on The Bloodline, it's important to recognize that there are other wrestling families with strong legacies as well. One of those families is the Ortons. Randy Orton is a third-generation star whose father is the Hall of Famer Cowboy Bob Orton.

Bob Orton joined forces with Rowdy Roddy Piper in 1984, at a time when professional wrestling was exploding into the mainstream. Bob was Piper's muscle and bodyguard, which became arguably the defining angle of Orton's career. Bob would use his cast to fend off foes and create chaos for anyone who dared to challenge Hot Rod.

With 14 WWE Title reigns under his belt, The Viper Randy Orton is considered by many fans to be one of the greatest stars in the world. With the King and Queen of the Ring event quickly approaching, Orton could add the crown to his list of many accolades. Randy must first get through The Bloodline's Tama Tonga for the chance to move on to the finals in Jeddah.
