At SummerSlam 2024, Rhea Ripley suffered one of the toughest nights in her WWE career. Not only did she lose the chance to reclaim the Women's World Championship, but she was also betrayed by Dominik Mysterio who chose to side with Liv Morgan.
This act by Dominik has left Mami alone and she now has a lot to think about. While she might feel alone due to Dominik's betrayal, there is a chance popular TNA star Joe Hendry could make his RAW debut and help Ripley against Dominik and Liv Morgan.
During the Fanatics live signing, Big E asked Liv Morgan if she believed in Joe Hendry. The Women's World Champion replied saying, "Who? I only believe in Dominik.” This comment by Morgan can be used by the Stamford-based promotion in a very creative way.
As the moniker goes, you say Joe Hendry's name and he appears. On RAW, Rhea Ripley could do something along those lines which would summon Hendry to come out and help her. While speculative, the angle is possible due to WWE and TNA's relationship and also because they use Hendry as a shared resource.
However, it does not seem like he will make his RAW debut tonight due to prior NXT commitments. But if and when he does make his debut on the red brand, it will be interesting to see the reactions he receives.
Former WWE Superstar did not like the finish of the match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley
The match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley had many great moments and both superstars did equally well. However, this contest will mainly be remembered for Dominik helping Morgan win and turning his back on Rhea Ripley. While the match was liked by the fans, a former WWE Superstar did not enjoy the finish.
During an appearance on Sportskeeda Wrestling, former WWE star Afa Anoa'i Jr mentioned he liked the match between Morgan and Ripley until the finish. As per Anoa'i, the finish of this match could have been executed better.
"So match number one, I really enjoyed. It was a really hard worked match. What didn't hit for me was the finish. I thought that the match outweighed the finish. And a lot of times, I'd like to see the finish outweigh the match. It was just to me, very, very predictable. Just the way Dom slid the chair in, jumped up, and grabbed the ref was very lazy. It was just lazy. You know, match number one is the tone-setter of the show. Really good match and I just feel the finish could've been executed better," said Anoa'i. [From 7:33 onwards]
Based on how the match ended, it is clear that Morgan and Ripley will have a rematch at some point. It will be interesting to see how things turn out when they collide in the future.
