What's the story?

Jason Lynch, the senior editor for Ad Week, posted a fairly interesting picture of 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

The picture showed Cena auditioning for the role of host of a popular Nickelodeon children's show from the 1990's and 2000's.

In case you didn't know...

The Cenation Leader is no stranger to working with Nickelodeon as he hosted the Kids' Choice Awards in 2017.

In January, he was announced as the host of the awards show for a second straight year when it takes place on March 24th.

The heart of the matter...

This may explain why Cena appeared on Raw to cut a promo about earning his way into the WWE Championship Six-Pack Challenge instead of SmackDown Live as he auditioned for the role of host of the popular children's show Blue's Clues on Tuesday. Take a look at the tweet below:

Blue's Clues first premiered on Nickelodeon in September of 1996, and instantly became a hit for the network.

The original host was Steve Burns who hosted from 1996 to 2002, followed by Donovan Patton from 2002 to 2006.

The show had been on hiatus for 12 years before Nickelodeon announced that they would revive the series for 20 episodes, a "refreshed signature look", and CGI animation.

What's next?

Next up for The Cenation Leader is WWE Fastlane this Sunday on the WWE Network. The pay per view will take place from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio with Cena challenging for the WWE Championship in a Six-Pack Challnege against AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Baron Corbin.

Author's take...

I have to be pretty honest, it was pretty weird to see John Cena dressed up like the Blue's Clues host. I vaguely remember the show from the mid-90's but it missed my childhood by about 10 years.

Clearly Nickelodeon loved the work that Cena did in hosting the Kids' Choice Awards last year to return later this year. I think that could go a long way towards him landing this role.
