WWE's upcoming premium live event, SummerSlam, is less than a month away. The company has started shaping the storylines for the major event in Cleveland, Ohio.
A positive for WWE recently has been the return of several top stars, which will serve as a major boost in the build-up to The Biggest Party of the Summer. Here are five major WWE Superstars who have recently returned.
#5. CM Punk
Drew McIntyre faced Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle in his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. It seemed that Drew was finally going to reclaim the title he lost at WrestleMania 40, but CM Punk was once again there to ruin it.
Punk made a shocking return during the main event, costing Drew the win in front of his home crowd. Punk also caused an interference at Money in the Bank, where he cost Drew the victory again after he had cashed in his MITB briefcase. Everything indicates that this will be one of the most featured rivalries heading into SummerSlam, assuming Punk is medically cleared.
#4. Bo Dallas
The Wyatt Sicks made their much-anticipated WWE debut a few weeks ago on WWE RAW and have since become a major talking point of the show. The intriguing sit-down interviews between Bo Dallas and Uncle Howdy are shedding light on the motivations behind the creation of the Wyatt Sicks.
During the most recent episode of RAW, Bo Dallas made a shocking appearance live as he was seen backstage waiting in General Manager Adam Pearce's office. This marked his first appearance as himself in the flesh since November 2019. It will be interesting to see how Bo Dallas' character evolves in the coming weeks on the red brand.
#3. Rhea Ripley
The entire Liv Morgan-Dominik Mysterio saga has caused a lot of chaos within The Judgment Day, especially with Rhea Ripley out of action. However, things are about to change as Mami is finally back.
During the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio defeated the LWO duo of Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio in the main event. As they were celebrating after the match, Rhea Ripley's music hit as she made her much-anticipated return from injury.
She looked furious and confronted Dominik Mysterio as the show came to a close. There are clear indications that WWE may be heading for a massive match between Ripley and Morgan for the Women's World Championship at SummerSlam.
#2. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury on The Road to WrestleMania 40 and has been out of action after The Show of Shows as he underwent surgery. However, The Visionary made a surprise return a few weeks ago.
He went on to challenge for Damian Priest's World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank last week, but was unable to win after Drew McIntyre cashed in his MITB briefcase. It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for Seth Rollins moving forward.
#1. John Cena
John Cena made a shocking return at Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada, where he officially announced his retirement and stated that 2025 will be his last run as an in-ring competitor.
The 13-time WWE Champion confirmed that he will participate in the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber next year, leading into WrestleMania 41, which he declared will be his final WrestleMania. In the press conference after the show, Cena provided more details, suggesting that his farewell tour will continue until the end of 2025 before he hangs up his boots.
