John Cena's ex-partner could confront him on RAW next week. WWE has announced that The Franchise Player will return next as he starts his farewell run with the company. On next week's RAW, Cena could plan to go after Cody Rhodes from the get-go.
The future WWE Hall of Famer is tied with Ric Flair on 16 World Titles each. This being his final run, it is John Cena's last chance to write history by winning his 17th title. Considering this, Cena could come out on RAW and challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship. However, Kevin Owens could be the one who comes out to interrupt Cena.
Post Saturday Night's Main Event, Owens has been calling himself the real champion with the Winged Eagle Championship in his possession. The Prizefighter could claim and try to convince The Cenation Leader that he is the real champion. He could also claim that John Cena should face him for his 17th Championship instead of Cody Rhodes.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.
Kevin Owens and John Cena have never been on the same page, especially during the former's early years on the main roster. However, as time passed, they became friends and teamed up to defeat Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa on the 31st December 2022 edition of SmackDown.
Former WWE Champion gives his thoughts on John Cena's retirement run
On January 6th, John Cena's farewell tour will officially kick-off. The 16-time World Champion has decided to play out these months as a proper full-time wrestler rather than someone just appearing at the big events.
While all fans and wrestlers see this as a great gesture, former WWE Superstar Batista feels this is something he could never do. Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, The Animal said he understands Cena's reasons and respects it but doesn't see himself doing something like this:
"I see his point where he wants to go around and he wants to personally thank all the fans, but there’s just something in me where I just couldn’t do it. It would feel uncomfortable to me, accolades feel uncomfortable to me. I could never be the type of babyface who was saying good stuff because I wanted to get the crowd to cheer for me. I couldn’t be that guy." [H/T: FandomWire]
There are multiple rumors online about Cena's potential storylines. As we move towards January 6th the excitement for his farewell tour gets even bigger and bigger.
