John Cena's WWE return to the company could coincide with a legend. The 16-time World Champion will be embarking on his retirement tour, with his final run potentially starting on January 6th on RAW's Netflix premiere.

Cena's return could also coincide with the return of heel Randy Orton, with The Viper's last heel turn taking place three years ago. According to Xero News, WWE has been planning John Cena vs. Randy Orton as the final WrestleMania match of Cena's career.

Triple H could bring Randy Orton in as early as January to give his storyline with The Cenation Leader a long and memorable build. The Viper claimed he wanted to face his old rival on his farewell tour. However, the 16-time World Champion stated that he would do it only if the creative team suggested it.

"When I brought it up to him, I felt kinda like a mark, like, 'Hey, you wanna do one more?' He shut it down right away and said, 'If creative comes up with it, then we'll do it,' kinda thing."'

It will be interesting to see what approach the company may take. The creative team could potentially want to end Cena's career with a blockbuster match. However, the former WWE Champion could have other ambitions.

John Cena reportedly doesn't want a 17th WWE Championship

The leader of the Cenation is currently tied with two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair at 16 World Championships. However, the future Hall of Famer might not be interested in it.

According to a report, John Cena wanted to use his retirement and his credibility to put over younger superstars. The 47-year-old wanted to help build the next generation of superstars.

If that ends up happening, Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, and Karrion Kross are a few superstars who could benefit from this. Carmelo Hayes from SmackDown could benefit from it too if Cena decides to show up on the blue brand.
