Cody Rhodes called out Kevin Owens last week on SmackDown after the latter assaulted Randy Orton, which sidelined The Viper indefinitely. The American Nightmare took a shot at KO, and their feud is expected to intensify this week when the former World Champion returns to the blue brand.
Kevin Owens will target the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, but this time, he could attempt to assault Cody Rhodes' good friend, Arn Anderson. The Hall of Famer briefly returned to WWE and was backstage when The American Nightmare took on Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam.
Targeting Arn Anderson would be the next step in his rivalry with Rhodes and would make things more personal between the two. It could also lead to a sanction from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and a Cody-KO match at the Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event.
As for Arn Anderson, he spent a total of 20 years with WWE (1988-1989, 2001-2019) before moving to AEW, where he became the manager and coach of Cody Rhodes for three years (2019-2022).

Cody Rhodes calls reuniting with Arn Anderson a 'special moment'
At SummerSlam, The American Nightmare retained his Undisputed WWE Championship after beating Solo Sikoa, thanks to an interference from a returning Roman Reigns.
Before the match, he reunited with Arn Anderson, and speaking at the SummerSlam Post-Show, he called this reunion 'special'.
"Arn is one of the smartest people you'll meet in pro wrestling/sports entertainment. But he's also so ahead of the curve in the sense like, 'Hey, I see where this is going.' Arn has always been able to be there. For me, it was just special to have a moment with him. Particularly one where he wasn't threatening to shoot me or something of that nature. It was nice because he means he means a great deal to me. I hope we see more of Double-A," Cody Rhodes said. [H/T Fightful]
With that in mind, it remains to be seen whether Arn Anderson will return to WWE on a regular basis and what role he could play in the Kevin Owens/Rhodes rivalry.
