Kevin Owens is preparing for a title match against the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night's Main Event this weekend. The two megastars have made things personal between them lately, with Randy Orton being part of the rivalry as well.
Amid a heel turn, KO could attempt to go after a WWE legend and challenge him to one final match at WrestleMania 41 in April. This legend is NXT boss Shawn Michaels, who retired several years ago and became a WWE executive.
During an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, the former World Champion opened up about his desire to wrestle HBK one last time, but revealed that the legendary wrestler was not willing to come out of retirement.
"Well, the answer is always Shawn Michaels and I really try pretty much every year. I think I'm done trying now, though...But yeah, I'd love to wrestle Shawn Michaels. I'm sure he would still be able to put in a performance like no other. I've no doubt. But he's done with it, you know? He's done. Trust me, I've tried," Kevin Owens said. (H/T Sportskeeda)

Kevin Owens could show up on NXT in the weeks prior to WrestleMania 41 and confront Shawn Michaels, forcing him to agree to a match.
Even though it is unlikely that this will happen, WWE could follow a similar plan to the one with Stone Cold Steve Austin. In 2022, at WrestleMania 38, the legendary wrestler eventually came out of retirement after 19 years and fought KO after the two had an in-ring segment.
Kevin Owens aims to become World Champion again
It has been a while since Kevin Owens last became a World Champion in WWE. This weekend, he will have the chance to re-claim gold, as he takes on the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a title match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
In an interview with Collider, the SmackDown superstar said that his goal remains to become World Champion again in WWE.
"I’d love to be world champion again. I’d love to Main Event WrestleMania night two, since I’ve done night one already. I’d love to have a match with Rey Mysterio . But if my career ends tomorrow, I’d still be happy with what I’ve done," KO said. (H/T PWMania)
The plan for Kevin Owens remains unclear, but WWE is expected to give him more title opportunities going forward, either on RAW or SmackDown.
