Kevin Owens has wreaked havoc on SmackDown, assaulting Randy Orton last week and causing a serious injury to the 14-time World Champion. KO used a banned move, the Piledriver, on The Viper, who will be sidelined indefinitely.
Following the assault, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes came to the ring and was by Randy Orton's side when the latter left the ring on a stretcher and moved to a medical facility.
This Friday, fans can expect The American Nightmare to re-ignite his feud with KO and go after the former World Champion, seeking revenge. However, this time Kevin Owens could attack Rhodes first and injure him, costing him his appearance at Survivor Series: WarGames.
This angle could allow WWE to write the Undisputed WWE Champion off TV for a while, using it as an excuse for his absence from Survivor Series, and confirming recent reports that the champion won't be working Survivor Series.

However, Cody Rhodes could return on time for Saturday Night's Main Event, on December 14, and face Kevin Owens in a rematch from Bash in Berlin.
WWE legend shares excitement about Kevin Owens & Randy Orton segment on SmackDown
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton had a great segment on SmackDown, which created a new angle in the rivalry between the two megastars. It also brought a lot of excitement to WWE legend Bully Ray.
In a recent appearance at the Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray shared his excitement about the segment, saying that all participants did a great job.
"A lot of people [were] like, 'Oh, my God. How could they do it? And it was so forceful, and the intensity [with] which he did it'. I thought it was great. Great storytelling, great execution of the move," Bully Ray said. [h/t WrestlingInc.com]
Following the piledriver, it appears that Randy Orton's injury is part of the storyline, but it is unknown when he will return. As for Owens, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis is set to address KO's actions and it is likely that he will be sanctioned and could be suspended indefinitely.
