The biggest match heading into WWE Money in the Bank 2021 is for the Universal Championship as Roman Reigns will defend his title against Edge. The Rated-R Superstar made his surprising return to SmackDown last month and went straight after The Tribal Chief.

Edge and Reigns previously faced each other in the main event of WrestleMania 37 in a triple threat match, also involving Daniel Bryan. The WWE Hall of Famer has blamed Bryan for the loss, and will finally get his one-on-one match for the Universal Championship at Money in the Bank.

Edge has had the upper hand during this feud on SmackDown for the last few weeks. However, all signs point towards Reigns successfully defending his title this Sunday.

Roman Reigns vs. John Cena for the Universal Championship is the rumored main event for WWE SummerSlam 2021. According to a recent report from Fightful Select, The Leader of Cenation is set to make his WWE return within the next week.

The current plan is for Cena to return on next week's SmackDown. However, the company could pull off another surprise with the former WWE Champion appearing at WWE Money in the Bank 2021 and confronting Reigns.
