#1 Backlot Brawl NXT Championship (if Velveteen Dream loses, he does not get another chance against Adam Cole): Adam Cole (c.) vs. Velveteen Dream

Adam Cole is the longest-reigning NXT Champion of all time.

Velveteen Dream returned to NXT in January and antagonized Roderick Strong in his effort to get to Adam Cole. He would then trick Adam Cole into interfering in his steel cage match with Roderick Strong. The Dream would then push the Messiah of the Backbreaker out of the ring allowing him to win the match by way of escaping the cage. He then locked the cage and beat down Adam Cole who was locked in the cage.

During Velveteen Dream's first NXT Championship match, Adam Cole managed to retain his title after The Undisputed Era interfered in the match. While Dexter Lumis did appear to try and counteract their interference, the champion still managed to get the win.

Velveteen Dream will get one last chance this Sunday. While this would normally mean that Velveteen Dream would get the victory, it does not feel like Adam Cole's reign is over yet. WWE would likely want a historic title reign such as Cole's to end in front of the NXT Universe.
