Kevin Owens will need some help this week when he takes on both Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in a tag team match on WWE SmackDown.
Interestingly, Owens was able to defeat both men in a Triple Threat Match this past week on SmackDown, but soon he would require some backup. Owens has turned on every partner he has ever had, and Sami Zayn is currently in the middle of a feud with Gunther on RAW, which means that he could be forced to approach someone he recently became friends with.
Legendary 20-time WWE champion Randy Orton hasn't been on SmackDown for several months after he picked a fight with Gunther and came up short at Bash in Berlin. Orton and Owens united to battle The Bloodline alongside Cody Rhodes, but haven't worked together since Orton's adventures on RAW.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
Could Orton be called upon to help Owens this week on SmackDown? After all, he hasn't turned on Orton, since The Viper is much more likely to betray than he is. The two men recently went off on their paths and unsuccessfully challenged for World Championships, but they could defeat Theory and Waller this week on SmackDown, which could then give them the tag team championship push.
A win for Orton and Owens could also finally lead to Grayson Waller and Austin Theory splitting after weeks of potential teases. The betrayal has been hinted at, and another loss could finally allow one of them to turn face.
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship?
Randy Orton and Kevin Owens have been formidable singles stars in WWE for several decades, but putting the two men together could be a masterstroke.
After all, both men had issues with The Bloodline and could now have a way to take away their Tag Team Championship. With Roman Reigns set to return and exact some revenge on Solo Sikoa and his new stable in the coming weeks, this could be the only way for Owens and Orton to remain in the picture with The Bloodline.
