Dominik Mysterio has come a long way since debuting in WWE at SummerSlam 2020. Dirty Dom burst onto the scene as an extremely clean-cut babyface teaming up with his legendary father, Rey Mysterio, and struggled to live up to the latter's legacy. The 27-year-old star found some success, most notably making history by winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship with The Master of the 619.

However, it was not until he turned heel that Dirty Dom began to step out of his father's shadow. He has since been a fixture with The Judgment Day, forming memorable alliances with Rhea Ripley and later Liv Morgan. The 27-year-old star is one of the most effective heels in the entire business, but this may not be the case forever, or for very long.

Below are four ways Dirty Dom could turn babyface in WWE.

#4. Dominik Mysterio could turn babyface after getting dumped by Liv Morgan

Dominik Mysterio's alignment with Liv Morgan since WWE SummerSlam 2024 has been a slam dunk. Dirty Dom and the reigning Women's World Champion are the perfect tandem, eliciting levels of heel heat from the audience like few others. Ironically, their excellence in these villainous roles has begun to win them admirers among fans, as often happens in the business.

Just like Dirty Dom helped Rhea Ripley turn babyface by betraying the latter at The Biggest Party of The Summer, he could find himself on the other end of the tunnel. There have been teases of Finn Balor secretly having dealings with Morgan, which could spell doom for the 27-year-old star in The Judgment Day. However, it could be a blessing in disguise, turning him into a massive babyface in WWE.

#3. A reunion with Rhea Ripley could make Dominik Mysterio one of the biggest babyfaces in WWE

Since its formation, The Judgment Day has drawn comparisons to another top WWE faction, The Bloodline. Both factions have evolved from their initial forms, entering the Civil War phase between their original and latest iterations. As a result, they have created huge babyfaces such as Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley.

They have also created the potential for the creation of more massive babyfaces through reunions of past allies, such as Jey Uso reuniting with Jimmy Uso and Reigns. Dominik Mysterio could benefit from this, too, should he rejoin Ripley and Damian Priest at some point. The pop of the crowd seeing Dom Dom and Mami embrace once more could rival that of The Original Tribal Chief standing with The Usos again.

#2. A reunion with Rey Mysterio could be the reason behind turning Dominik Mysterio babyface in WWE

The Mysterio family's WWE legacy is a compelling contrast between good and evil. On one hand, Rey Mysterio is the ultimate babyface, having never turned heel in over two decades with the Stamford-based promotion. On the other side of the coin, Dominik Mysterio is arguably the most despicable heel in the entire industry, and can barely speak a word in his promos due to the incessant booing from the crowd whenever he holds a microphone.

A big part of Dirty Dom's heel heat stems from his continuous antagonization of his iconic father, and it has done wonders for his run as a villain. It would almost certainly work the same magic in the opposite direction if he were to reunite with The Master of the 619. For example, imagine the pop if Dragon Lee turned against Rey and Dom Dom came to his father's aid.

The most hated villains make the most beloved heroes, and Dominik could be a prime example of that with the help of his father.

#1. Dominik Mysterio could have his babyface turn organically

It is almost impossible to remain a heel for your entire career in WWE. The Stamford-based promotion's fans love to boo bad guys, but in the process, they often begin to love those villains.

Some of the biggest current babyfaces in the company such as Randy Orton and CM Punk cut their teeth as some of the most despicable heels the audience had ever seen. Through years of hard work and entertaining storylines, they gained the respect of the WWE Universe and became organically popular.

Dominik Mysterio is on that track, proving himself as a workhorse by having the second-most matches in the company in 2023. He has also been trusted to work with stars such as Punk and Orton in their first singles matches back in the promotion, and the fanbase has taken notice of the same. It won't be long before Dirty Dom naturally evolves into a heroic character due to fans' respect for his work ethic.
