Cody Rhodes is definitely one of the WWE Superstars who has already earned a spot for WrestleMania 41 but there's no guarantee that he will walk into the event as the Undisputed Champion. However, if it does drop the belt before 'Mania, The American Nightmare can engage in other high-profile feuds instead.

At WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The American Nightmare has since defended the championship against several stars like Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Solo Sikoam, and more. While he is consistent in defending the title, this type of consistency has also raised the chances of him losing the gold en route to WrestleMania 41.

For this list, we will look at four possible things Cody Rhodes can do at WrestleMania 41 if he no longer has the Undisputed Champion.

#4. Fans can finally see Cody Rhodes take on his former mentor

There have been several feuds fans wanted to see Cody Rhodes engage in since returning to WWE in 2022. He has already fought most of them like Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, but one name he has yet to clash with is Randy Orton.

Randy and Cody have a long history both in and outside wrestling. They are both sons of legendary wrestlers and their most notable connection is their time together in The Legacy. Their history and close bond are something that the company has touched upon in recent months. Both men even team up from time to time and have maintained a good relationship.

However, it also doesn't go unnoticed that the subtle seeds about an eventual heel turn from Orton have already been planted. Cody vs. Randy doesn't need a championship and is already a big feud due to their history and deep personal connection.

#3. John Cena to pass the torch to Cody Rhodes

2025 will mark the final year fans will see John Cena as an in-ring performer, and The Cenation Leader is planning to retire with a bang. Since it will be his final WrestleMania, it's only fitting that he faces the next "face of WWE."

Like Cody vs Randy, Rhodes' possible feud with Cena will be a big one that doesn't need any championship. Both are famous outside wrestling and can get over the crowd naturally. If they both face next year, it can be Cena's way of passing the torch as the face of the company to Rhodes.

#2. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins can have a deserving rematch

Seth Rollins became Cody's first major rival in WWE after the latter returned to the company in 2022. Both men were even supposed to meet inside the ring again at this year's WrestleMania before fans changed it to Cody vs Roman Reigns. While both stars are allies, recent happenings can suggest a different outcome once Rollins returns from injury.

After Roman Reigns returned on last week's SmackDown, a tag team match with Cody against The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa was confirmed for Bad Blood. Due to the unexpected pairing, Seth can take offense that after he sacrificed his body for Rhodes at WrestleMania, the latter just went on to team up with Reigns.

#1. The Rock to defend a special championship at WrestleMania 41

One match for Rhodes many expect to occur at WrestleMania 41 is against The Rock. However, for next year, circumstances may change and it could be The Final Boss walking into the event with gold.

At this year's Hall of Fame, The Rock was awarded the People's Championship by Muhammad Ali's wife Lonnie Ali. It's a title that the superstar has carried around with him in WWE since then. Cody Rhodes has also expressed interest in that particular belt. For next year's event, Rhodes can argue that he has become the real "People's Champion" after fans picked him to face Roman at WrestleMania XL, forcing The Rock to put it on the line.
