#3. John Cena and Nikki Bella had a very public relationship

After John filed for divorce to his first wife, Elizabeth Huberdeau in 2012, he began dating former superstar Nikki Bella later that year. The former couple's relationship became a target for their on-screen rivals, even being prominently featured on Total Divas and Total Bellas.

In 2017, The Cenation Leader and the longest reigning Divas Champion feuded with The Miz and Maryse which concluded at WrestleMania 33. During the event, John and Nikki got engaged but broke up the following year. While their relationship seemed perfect in WWE, those who followed the couple knew the problems they encountered.

Earlier seasons of Total Divas showed how they would argue over John's "controlling" attitude, with the main issue being that Cena didn't want to get married and have children while Nikki did.

#2. John Cena and Mickie James' relationship even reached on-screen

In 2007, Mickie James and John Cena started dating, or as per what the former superstar said, they were "talking." The Stamford-based promotion teased a possible romantic angle between the two, but it never fully took place.

In an August 2024 appearance on Ring The Belle, Mickie James shared that the company decided to try an on-screen pairing between her and John after they had been "talking." However, the former couple had no on-screen chemistry and said it even felt uncomfortable.

After returning to WWE in 2016, James was released in 2021 but briefly returned the following year as an entrant in the Royal Rumble. In 2010, she began dating current SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The couple welcomed their first child in 2014 and engaged later that year, tying the knot in 2015.

#1. John Cena had a short romance with former superstar Victoria

John made his WWE main roster debut in 2002 by joining the SmackDown brand to answer Kurt Angle's open challenge. However, another major thing that happened in that same year was that he dated Victoria after meeting while The Doctor of Thuganomics was training at OVW.

In a 2012 interview, former superstar Kenny Dykstra said that Victoria was John's "road girlfriend" while she was married to another man. The former Women's Champion later shared that she dated John in 2002 for a month and that although she was married at the time, her husband was separated at the time.
