The ' Bulgarian Brute' Rusev.

When Rusev came up to the main roster, he was a force to be reckoned with. It did not take him long to become the United States champion after destroying many opponents along the way. Many people think that Rusev lost his way after he lost to John Cena at Wrestlemania 32.

Whatever the reasons are for Rusev losing his push will never be known, but he could have been and still could be a great world champion if backstage officials gave him a chance. He has the look that Vince likes and he was incredibly over with the WWE Universe last year and in late 2017, which the company also failed to capitalise on.

I understand that he has been a three-time United States champion but considering how popular his 'Rusev Day' gimmick was, WWE could have made him one of the faces of SmackDown Live. His popularity rivalled that of Daniel Bryan. He certainly deserved to have at least one run with a world championship.

Having somebody that the crowd are behind like that is very rare in WWE these days, which makes you question why it wasn't capitalised on. Rusev got himself over organically much the same as Daniel Bryan.

Now Rusev is stuck in a meaningless tag team with Shinsuke Nakamura doing virtually nothing. It's disappointing how Rusev fell out of favour with management, and will never probably get a significant push again as long as he remains with the company.
