Lyra Valkyria (birth name: Aoife Cusack) is a professional wrestler and is presently associated with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), performing on the RAW brand. She was previously known as Aoife Valkyrie in NXT UK. Lyra Valkyria secured victory over former champion Becky Lynch on Night 1 of Halloween Havoc, clinching the NXT Women's Champion title, marking her inaugural WWE championship reign.

Lyra Valkyria's Wrestling Career

Valkyrie began her career as early as May 2, 2015, in Celtic Championship Wrestling in Cork, Ireland. She went on to wrestle in several Irish promotions, including Fight Factory Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Ulster, Over The Top Wrestling, and Phoenix Wrestling. Additionally, she spent time in the German Wrestling Federation between 2017 and 2019, as well as Westside Xtreme Wrestling between 2019 and 2020.

After wrestling independently, Lyra debuted as Aoife Valkyrie on the February 13 episode of NXT UK and defeated French wrestler Amale. On March 5, she secured another win against Scottish competitor Isla Dawn. Maintaining her winning streak, she triumphed over Nina Samuels on March 26. However, her streak ended on April 29 after losing to Meiko Satomura. On July 29, interference from Joseph Connors led to Valkyrie's defeat by Jinny. In a No Disqualification rematch on August 26, Valkyrie emerged victorious over Jinny with Connors confined in a cage.

In the 2024 WWE Draft, Valkyria was promoted to the RAW brand and made her debut by saving Becky Lynch from Damage CTRL and overcoming Dakota Kai. She progressed to the finals of the Queen of the Ring competition however lost to Nia Jax, denoting her first main roster loss. On the June 10 episode of RAW, Valkyria confronted Iyo Sky and lost, however, was saved from an assault by Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. The three then frame a union. Afterward, she qualified for the women's Money in the Bank ladder match by beating Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane in a triple-threat match.
