Valkyrie began her career as early as May 2, 2015, in Celtic Championship Wrestling in Cork, Ireland. She went on to wrestle in several Irish promotions, including Fight Factory Pro Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Ulster, Over The Top Wrestling, and Phoenix Wrestling. Additionally, she spent time in the German Wrestling Federation between 2017 and 2019, as well as Westside Xtreme Wrestling between 2019 and 2020.

After wrestling independently, Lyra debuted as Aoife Valkyrie on the February 13 episode of NXT UK and defeated French wrestler Amale. On the June 10 episode of RAW, Valkyria confronted Iyo Sky and lost, however, was saved from an assault by Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. The three then frame a union.
