One of the major changes in WWE since the Triple H/Paul Levesque era is the frequent international Premium Live Events, and WrestleMania 42 could be among the shows happening outside the United States. Due to the possible monumental event, major plans could be in place.
Since Triple H became WWE's head of creative, the Stamford-based promotion has traveled to Australia, Scotland, France, Puerto Rico, and more for their Premium Live Events. The likes of SummerSlam and WrestleMania remained inside the United States, but that may change soon after the London mayor, Sadiq Khan, shared that he had a meeting with The Game and Nick Khan about potentially returning to London for 'Mania 42. Since it will be the first time The Show of Shows could occur outside the US, a lot of surprises could happen.
For this list, we will look at four things that could happen if WWE takes WrestleMania 42 in London.
#4. Drew McIntyre finally becomes the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania
One of the most talked about feuds this year is between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. The rivalry between both men began earlier this year when Drew injured Punk at the Royal Rumble, and the Chicago star ensured to make McIntyre's life harder since then.
The Second City Saint allowed Damian Priest to cash in on Drew at WrestleMania XL, making the latter's huge win extremely brief, and when McIntyre cashed in his contract at this year's Money in the Bank, Punk ensured his attempt failed. However, that could change at WrestleMania 42 London.
Once WrestleMania 42 comes around, the feud between him and Punk might have ended and he will be set against a new opponent, possibly one holding the World Heavyweight Champion. In that way, Drew could win on WWE's biggest stage and in front of his people, and this time stay champion.
#3. John Cena to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
John Cena announced on this year's Money in the Bank event that 2025 will be his last year as an in-ring performer in the Stamford-based promotion. With this in mind, he should be heavily involved in 'Mania London due to his previous comments.
The Cenation Leader advocated for a WrestleMania in London last year and not only that, he shared on The One Show on BBC that UK fans are the best and if he could choose his last match venue, it would be the O2 Arena in London. If WWE does go to London for 'Mania, John should take the chance to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
#2. Major involvement from British stars
Drew McIntyre is not the only star from Britain/Ireland who could get involved at 'Mania London. Current stars like Sheamus, Blair Davenport, Piper Niven, Tyler Bate, Butch/Pete Dunne, and more could be heavily involved. However, it could also mark an in-ring return or even debut.
SmackDown commentator Wade Barrett could return to in-ring action, with his last match taking place in 2016 on RAW. On the other hand, the blue brand's General Manager Nick Aldis could also make his in-ring debut at the event.

Some NXT Premium Live Events usually take place before or after a main roster had theirs, with an exception if it took place internationally. However, that could change in a couple of years if the plans in London push through.
The last time NXT had an international Premium Live Event was on August 10, 2019, for Takeover: Toronto. In 2026, it could be the first NXT PLE after the COVID-19 pandemic.
