On the Wrestlemania week, we had reported how Stone Cold Steve Austin stated on his podcast that he will be watching Wrestlemania 31 from his ranch in Texas instead of appearing live at the event.
This decision came as a big surprise to the WWE officials as he was initially scheduled to appear at Santa Clara, California. And further reports indicate that Austin was supposed to board the same flight with the Undertaker to San Jose considering they both are from Texas.
However, the Texas Rattlesnake decided against flying to the event and a WWE employee who was sent to the airport to pick him up returned after waiting for a while. It appears they still thought he might show up as there was a room with his name on it backstage at Levi’s Stadium until mid-week.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
As noted earlier, the issue lies between Chairman Vince McMahon and Austin and a source close to the WWE has reported that they have never seen Vince get as furious over an incident before which definitely suggests that the issue has become huge.
The rift between Vince and Austin reportedly has to do with his podcast on the WWE Network and Vince not liking some aspects of it. This is likely why WWE Network is now carrying Chris Jericho’s podcast instead.
PWInsider reports that WWE also wanted Austin for the upcoming season of Tough Enough but he turned it down for reasons of his own. Some expect Austin to address his issues with WWE shortly.
