As noted earlier, Ryback had to be pulled out of WWE Battleground pay-per-view where he was scheduled to face Big Show and The Miz in a triple threat match and defend his Intercontinental championship.

Ryback suffered a staph infection injury after his match on the Battleground go-home episode of Monday Night Raw where he teamed up Randy Orton to take on Big Show and Sheamus. As a result, the Big Guy wasn’t able to defend his title at the PPV and the match eventually was cancelled.

While there has been no storyline following Ryback’s absence from the ring, new developments have emerged after The Miz posted on Twitter that his “legal team” is trying to have Ryback stripped of the title due to him not being able to defend it right now. The Moneymaker posted the following tweet:
