WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley is set to defend her title against Tamina at Money in the Bank PPV on Sunday. With Sasha Banks not competing in the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match, there's a very little chance that we will see the winner (whoever she is) cashing in for the coveted prize of the Blue brand. Moreover, a loss against the returning Superstar will hurt her credibility beyond measure.
After months of inactivity, Tamina returned to WWE and has presented an improved version of her dominant self. On SmackDown, she has been a force to reckon with and has never shooed away from altercations with Bayley and her best friend, Sasha Banks. In fact, she pinned Bayley on SmackDown's go-home show before the Money in the Bank PPV. In the process, Tamina also found an ally in Lacey Evans. While Tamina's recent run as a babyface has been impressive so far, it is still too soon for her to win the title.
But more than anything, a loss for Bayley will immensely affect her budding feud with Banks. WWE Creative has been hinting at this much-awaited rivalry for very long, and if the title changes hands, those plans will take a serious hit. A victory over Tamina, however, will add a feather to Bayley's cap and will make her SmackDown Championship reign even more illustrious. She must walk out of Money in the Bank PPV with the title around her waist.
