#4. To build Kofi Kingston as a credible main eventer at Money in the Bank
At Money in the Bank, Kofi Kingston has the opportunity to strike gold twice. Kofi Kingston's most significant year in WWE was 2019, as most of it was spent in WWE title pursuits and then a surprisingly lengthy reign as the first African-born WWE Champion in history.
While he was a credible main eventer, he was instantly removed from the top level once Brock Lesnar squashed him in October 2019 to capture the WWE Championship.
Even in defeat, RAW needs main event superstars, and Kofi Kingston is an excellent option to go with at Money in the Bank 2021. He's not the star that WWE will build around in RAW, nor does he need to be.
#3. A lack of other names to challenge Bobby Lashley
Following all the WWE releases, it's shocking to see how much depth both the men's and women's divisions have lost. When looking at the top names on the RAW roster, it isn't as stacked to the point where WWE has a plethora of babyface challengers to choose from.
Kofi Kingston is legitimate, but he may have benefited by getting a title shot at Money in the Bank only because there aren't many other names. Even big superstars like Randy Orton and AJ Styles are more involved in the tag team division on RAW.
In that sense, Kofi Kingston was the best choice to go with at Money in the Bank 2021.
