#2. To complete an incomplete story

Last month, Kofi Kingston answered Bobby Lashley's "non-title" open challenge on RAW, planting the seed for their Money in the Bank match. Kofi Kingston pinned the WWE Champion thanks to help from Drew McIntyre, but it also began a dispute over which man deserved to face Bobby Lashley more.
Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston in a #1 contender's match to halt his progress, but he won't be doing that at Money in the Bank 2021. It's a good decision because Kofi Kingston was on the verge of becoming a WWE title challenger and fans were excited to see a fresh feud.
At Money in the Bank, that's exactly what we'll be getting - a complete feud.
#1. The Hurt Business storyline could culminate at Money in the Bank

It would be interesting to see if WWE went a different direction at Money in the Bank 2021. MVP recently expressed his disapproval of Kofi Kingston and how he handled his defeat.
From what it sounded like, MVP was interested in recruiting Kofi Kingston as a part of the new Hurt Business. This could be a continuation of that, and the Money in the Bank WWE title match may play a role in starting a new storyline.
