Most improved WWE Superstar of the week - Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is finally getting his time under the spotlight. While he was always great in the ring and his energetic display of his wrestling skills always contributed to his matches as a singles or a tag team performer, somehow he was the one to go through the first pinfall or face the maximum brunt of his opponents.

But everything changed when Elimination Chamber came along and brought the Wyatt Family with it. The epicness of this feud can be measured with the amount of ‘This IS Awesome’ chants it garnered without any of the superstars even laying a finger on each other. Sure, Roman Reigns was pushed and showcased as the breakout star of the Shield with all the build up to his limited moves, all the bravura displayed following those moves and with all those extreme close ups, WWE sure meant business with that guy. They still do. But one move might have just taken away the audience’s attention for good.

A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE

During the match Luke Harper tried to execute a German Suplex on Seth Rollins who was caught on the top rope. Rollins landed on his feet. That certainly got everybody’s attention nd since then his aerial moves have garnered more reaction than Roman Reigns’ spear or his ‘Superman Punch’.

Whether it is his suicide dives or monkey flips, Rollins has set himself apart in his team which consists of the deranged Dean Ambrose and the mighty force called Roman Reigns. When it was finally looking like the Shield might split with Rollins left as a sidekick or sidelined by his conflicting teammates, Rollins left many corrected.

The walk out made by him during their second epic match with the Wyatt Family set the tone for the Seth Rollins Highlight Reel. Since then not only has the Shield managed to look totally anti- heroic, Rollins certainly made everyone be thankful to him for the revival of the Shield as the three man army of destruction- The Hounds of Justice.

The past week saw Rollins picking up the victory for his team against the Real Americans and not only did he end up with the final word, he didn’t even face the brunt of the match which was mostly directed towards Dean Ambrose. Seth Rollins dominated the moment he stepped into the ring. He was rarely controlled by his opponents and looked every bit the brightest star in the Shield.

On Smackdown Dean Ambrose and Rollins competed in two matches and again undoubtedly Rollins performed extremely well. Roman reigns’ moveset looks tame in front of Rollins and in this week Rollins established himself as the potential biggest star of the Shield. WWE is really protecting Reigns by not letting him compete in actual matches and instead having him on the side throughout those matches and letting him end these matches with his impactful moves which while enjoyable are quite limited.

The week was a good showcase of the Shield’s return to their favorite territory of dominance and it’s enthralling to see three young guys bring so much consistency into an otherwise haphazard WWE programming. While Triple H claims to bring reality into the ‘Reality Era’, these three have thrived in being the best team in the best fictional surrounding for the past one and a half years.

It’s great to see that by now every member of the Shield has had a share in the spotlight where they made people guessing who’ll end up being the biggest star of the three.

For now, that discussion is surely and steadily led by Seth Rollins.
