The Undertaker's legendary WrestleMania streak came to an end against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30. However, that was not the only setback for 'Taker, who claimed he did not remember the match as he suffered a concussion five minutes into the contest.

While The Undertaker's revelation about the match shocked many and earned him praise for continuing, Vince McMahon, in the Netflix docuseries Mr. McMahon, said that he did not think The Deadman suffered any concussion. In episode 6 of the docuseries, Mr. McMahon said:

“It was a last-minute decision. Mark wasn’t prepared for it. I think he was in some sort of physiological shock. Looking back on it, I don’t see where Mark was concussed. Could have happened. But I think Mark didn’t remember any of that because it was so traumatic for him.”

During the same episode, The Undertaker also revealed that the original plan at WrestleMania 30 was for him to beat Brock Lesnar and extend the streak to 22-0. However, on the night of WrestleMania 30, he was informed by McMahon that Lesnar was going to break the streak.

What did The Undertaker say about facing a concussion at WrestleMania 30?

The WrestleMania 30 match between The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar took place in 2014. However, The Deadman only spoke about his condition during the said match, five years later in 2019. At the time, he elaborated on what transpired during the bout.

In a conversation with WWE legend, Stone Cold Steve Austin, on the Broken Skull Sessions in 2019, Taker mentioned that it was in the first five minutes he got concussed. He also elaborated on the effects of the concussion.

"Somewhere within the first five minutes, I get concussed. I don't even remember this night. I've watched it back now and obviously know. My last memory that I can definitively tell you happened at about 3:30 in the afternoon when my wife came backstage and we had a conversation. That's the last thing I remember on my own about that day. At this point in my career, there is a huge process of me getting ready between the stretching, visiting the doctors, doing everything I need to do to get myself ready to perform. An hour and a half, two hour process that's completely gone. My memory picks up, 4:30 - 5 in the morning when I'm in the hospital and they're coming to check on me every few minutes asking me my name and I got no clue," he said.

While The Undertaker did go through an experience he wouldn't have wanted to, he returned to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania the very next year. After that Taker kept making sporadic appearances for WWE and eventually retired in 2020.
