WWE SummerSlam is looking to be a stacked show. While most premium live events in 2024 featured between four and six matches, this upcoming event already has seven bouts scheduled.
The current lineup includes four world title matches. Gunther will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship, plus Solo Sikoa hopes to dethrone Cody Rhodes. Additionally, Rhea Ripley will clash with Liv Morgan, and Bayley will defend her title against Nia Jax.
The other matches that have been announced for the show are also exciting. Logan Paul will go one-on-one with LA Knight, Bron Breakker will take on Sami Zayn in a Money in the Bank rematch, and CM Punk will finally fight Drew McIntyre. That, of course, is if the card doesn't change before the big show.
There is a chance that some last-minute changes could be made to make SummerSlam an even more exciting show. This article will look at a handful of possible changes that could be made within the next week or so.

Below are four last-minute changes WWE could make to the SummerSlam match card next week.
#4. Dominik Mysterio could follow in Seth Rollins' footsteps and become a special guest referee
Seth Rollins is set to be the special guest referee for an upcoming bout between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. Fans are intrigued by that stipulation, but the WWE Universe could potentially see it for a second time on the same card.
Rhea Ripley, who recently returned to WWE television, will be challenging Liv Morgan at the SummerSlam premium live event. The Women's World Championship is set to be on the line.
Dominik Mysterio has been a key player in their rivalry, and the former North American Champion is seemingly stuck between the two. As a result, Dirty Dom could also fill the role of a special guest referee. If he is forced to choose between Rhea and Liv, what will the younger Mysterio do? It would be a fascinating scenario to watch play out.
#3. A WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match could be added to the card
The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship belts are a key title in World Wrestling Entertainment. The gold is currently held by The Unholy Union, which is a combination of Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre.
The duo has a lot of teams that want their gold. On WWE RAW, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark want the gold, as do Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, along with Damage CTRL. Meanwhile, SmackDown's Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill, and even Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae, want the title.
World Wrestling Entertainment could add match number eight to the lineup by way of a Women's Tag Team Championship match. The Unholy Union could fight Shayna and Zoey, Bianca and Jade, or some multi-team bout.
#2. Ilja Dragunov could be added to the Intercontinental Title match
A WWE Money in the Bank 2024 rematch has been announced for SummerSlam. Sami Zayn will put his coveted Intercontinental Championship on the line against the Big Bad Booty Nephew, Bron Breakker.
Breakker earned the title opportunity in a match with Ilja Dragunov on WWE RAW this week. The two clashed to earn a shot against Sami, but Ilja was unable to continue following a Spear on the floor that caused the Russian star to hit his head against the LED apron.
The Mad Dragon is unlikely to be satisfied with that decision, however, as he never gave up. He wasn't pinned either and thus likely wants in on the match. Adam Pearce could hear his complaint and decide to let Dragunov compete, thus changing the bout into a Triple Threat Match.
#1. A stipulation could be added for Solo Sikoa vs. Cody Rhodes
The likely main event of SummerSlam will see the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line. The reigning title holder, Cody Rhodes, will put his belt up against The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa.
Things between the two have gotten personal in a hurry. The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Solo himself have taken out Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. They did so to try to get at The American Nightmare and make sure he has no help at SummerSlam.
With violence and chaos involved in the build, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis could add a stipulation of some kind to the match. The most fitting might be a Steel Cage Match. This will keep The Bloodline out and allow the two competitors to fight it in a no-disqualification bout.
